I'm no longer with KLLM. I paid my truck off last October and haven't looked back since. The only time you might go by Morrow is when you get a Fresh Express load out of Salinas, CA going right down the street from the terminal. If you keep your head down and try to learn everything u can,the 6 weeks usually flies by. Dispatch will try to run the crap outta of ya right out of the gate so make sure u try to soak up every bit of info u can. The load planners in Jackson don't see how much experience u have when planning the load, they just see that they have a truck in the area that has 2 drivers in it. Ask ur trainer as many questions as u need to, that's his job and that's what's he's there for. Now I say that with the expectation that ur not gonna ask him the meaning of life, cause that might get a strange look, but anything pertaining to the truck or driving the truck is not a stupid question! If he has a problem with this or has a problem training u, u need to call Charles Felder in Jackson and let him know what's going on. Good Luck

No worries just take it in stride you'll have a lot of information thrown at u in first couple of weeks and it can be overwhelming at times! I had a couple of students quit because it was just too much information and each new thing they learned it looked like their brain was going in meltdown mode HAHA! Just take it one day at a time. I sometimes griped that 6 weeks wasn't enough time between learning to drive and logging and company policy and dot policy and learning reefers and da da da to da! I probably know ur trainer, whats ur trainer's name and I can tell u if he's a good guy or a prick?

Yes, agreed; everyone at the Atlanta termianl are miserable jagoffs. As soon as you arrive, and they find out you're from another termianl or region outfit; they go out of their way to find something wrong with you and / or your truck. Jackson yard isn't much better. Portage Ind terminal isn't any better. There is one good overnight dispatcher who will actually hlep you out in a jam. Everyone else equally miserable and will not answer qualcomm questions, guess what; "you're on your own, figure it out.." 99.9% of dispatchers at any terminal and / or office personnel have never been behind the wheel of a truck and know nothing about the lifestyle and talk down the drivers. A very sad state of affair indeed. Load planners using fuzzy math with fuzzy calculators and are the main reason for many problems. Dispatchers are blowing up your phone; doesn't matter if you're sleeping, driving etc taking a dump; that phone is ringing. If you're thinking about running out of a regional terminal; don't expect to be home at all. Great Lakes regional out of Portage Ind for example; expect runs to Maine; NYC / New Jersey / N Carolina / Texas / Arizona. Guess that's close enough to the Great Lakes so it makes plenty of sense. Basically; you get the loads that the lease ops don't want so put that in your pipe and smoke it. Watch out for that place.
