They are on my short list but are not on the top of the list. I live about 4 miles from the Fontana, CA terminal. Looking for the opportunity to run through Fontucky while out or get a day home every 10 days. Every KLLM driver I've talked to on the street says definitely, especially since Salinas is closing.
What say you?
How is the sitting situation? Sit a lot? Can I get 2700 miles per week if I want to run hard?

of appling there. thanks for any info. -
I'm looking to go to kllm.. I have a few questions whats there running area, pay, and benefits... I know things are slow... Thinks again..
charlie's angel Thanks this. -
Hi guys, I just signed on with KLLM and they told me run with trainer for three weeks than they assign you a truck. Pay .32cpm, 400 a week during training. Ill be going to Mississippi for oreintation in January.
-
Training is six weeks long, not three. Only way that you're getting out early from training is if you can shift with no problems and know how to do the paperwork and qualcomms without any problems.

KLLM seemed to be fine at first. I leased a truck with them and during orientation they covered the contracts very well, handled things with the up most honesty. When I got into the field driving in the Tyson Dedicated division that all seem to go out the window. It seemed that qualcom just wasn't in the truck, dispatch didn't want to respond to questions with the use of qualcom. It was always, "call me." I can understand that the need for a well defined long explanation it would make sense to call at my next stop, but to ask questions that can be answered with yes or no, a short answer, that starts to make a driver wonder what it is they don't want in writing to the answer at hand.
My personal experience here, they don't want the answers in writing.
Yes, I caught them lying on more than one occasion. I quit calling dispatch and anyone else in that group, and made them answer me in writing. That's when the trouble started. So, I figured leaving the Tyson dedicated division and go OTR might be the answer, and it turned out things didn't change much.
My entire ordeal started with my truck. The darn was thing was neglected by a previous driver and was filthy when I looked at it, and needed all kinds of work as I found out over the next month.
The sad fact is, I didn't want that truck. I said so before I leased this truck. I was told, "hey don't worry we will detail it, and make sure repairs are done and that the tractor is ready to go." That was a fight right from the get go. The CD player was broken, I like to listen to music rolling down the road when it is safe to do so. The entire truck inside and out was filthy, and I mean unlivable, the truck hadn't been washed in weeks or maybe even months. They made good on this, but not without a fight on my part. Their actions to my request to fix the truck was less than stellar, trust me. So, I got the notion to go to Freightliner and have the vin. ran to check on previous repairs, and any recalls the truck may need or had been done. Turns out it needed a Trubo charger replaced, and the mechanical night mare began. For the next month I was in and out of the shop, no exaggeration either, and left me in the negative as soon as my first settlement came in. I asked for the lease payment to be deferred and that didn't happen, the entire lease group in orientation had the payment taken out a week and a half before it was agreed upon. Breech....The 30 day warranty covered some of the repairs, but I still got a Repair Order on some of the repairs that were and should have been done before I left for my first dispatch. The kicker, I get a warning violation after all the screw'n around I got, for a drug test that was done during orientation. I had gone to the dentist not a week prior to going to orientation and had Lortabs in my system to alleviate the pane. I told them about it, wrote down my prescripts on the med form, and get a warning and violation on qualcom a month later, that any future violations, that disciplinary actions would be taken. What the F....??? Lortabs that are legally prescribed by a licensed physician are not a disqualification by the DOT. Plus, I didn't have them on the truck, nor would ever use them before driving. I say stay away from KLLM...Yet, there are some very happy drivers there as well. Your call man.
If you do lease, run that tractor over to the Freighliner dealer in Richland, MS. Make #### sure you get the repairs needed done before you leave for your fist dispatch. The reality of this is, you may never know what the tractor needs with just a very good pretrip. Don't fool with that Tyson Dedicated division, unless you like to sit, and run short relays, wait a day and half for your next load, and like to run night and day. That isn't much fun, and very hard to get the miles you need. The Christmas bonus of a grand they promise is a joke. Go home for the holidays, they won't pay it, unless you are dispatched thru Christmas and New Years. All they have to do is stop the truck on New Years eve, and its done, no bonus.bama07football and Jarhed1964 Thank this. -
