OK folks. I have signed up to be at Orientation with KLLM on Oct. 13th in Jackson. I was wondering can anyone tell me what to expect during orientation. I'd like to know if we're put up in a hotel, meals, classes, paperwork, being assigned after orientation, etc, etc. Just wanting to get a heads up ahead of time. THANKS!!!!:biggrin_25511:

I think I might see you there. I take my DMV road test OCT 2nd and should be there on the same date. I'll be going to the GA Term. From what I was told they put us in a hotel and gives us lunch. Thats all I know

First your recruiter could answer your question better than we can since he right there.

But in most cases you do Paper work, DOT Physicals, Road test, and learn how things are done. Most cases they do provide a motel room, but expect to room up with someone. Most will provide 2 meals and you might have to pay for one.

Go in with an open mind, and good attitude and you should do fine..

    Good Luck and drive safe....

Most orientation I have been to, they provide hotels, (usually two to a room) lunch, lots of paper work, so have all you ducks in order. Lots more paperwork, you will also watch videos, on such things as safety, insurance, etc... This may differ from what KLLM does, but that is what I went through.. You might also see videos on how to user the qualcomm,or what ever they call it, but it will be boring as all hell.. You will also have your road test, physical, so make sure you list all meds if your on them and don't leave out anything.

Most test only involve driving and backing, I hear some companies require you to do all the other types that they should have taught you in school... Things to remember

    1) Keeps both hands on wheel, when not shifting
    2) Look at both mirrors every 5 to 8 seconds
    3) Do not shift over RR tracks if present
    4) Stop at all yellow or red lights, do not turn right on read big no no in most companies
    5) When backing make sure you use your GOAL (get out and look)
    6) While at orientation do not drink alcohol, when your on your time. Lots of companies won't tell you this, but if you get caught, you will be sent home..
    7) Have plenty of cash on hand just in case get sent home, because some won't pay for the return trip home, or the extra Say in the hotel.

Just figured I throw in a few extra tips in there.

So besides all the common sense stuff, like you listed above. when it comes to backing its pretty much the basics right? See-side. Blind-side. Offset. Reverse offset. Sraight line. Parrallel Parking.

Have noticed on many threads that there always seems to be a large amount of paperwork that needs to be filled out. Would like to have examples of just exactly what and how much paperwork you're talking about. Can't imagine that this is a full day activity. How much time is needed to fill all this paperwork out? Thanks!

most of the paper work is about company policy(how kllm wants you to do things)an you will always have some dweeb who will ask silly questions that the instructor has to take time to answer.
