Hey guys, how are the miles lately?

I'm almost a month out from finishing my school and am still looking at companies.

I've been driving for them for just over 2 years and I average 2500 miles per week...sometimes more, sometimes less but that is my average.

    Hope that helps....

Who is your truck treating you? Still liking owner /op better than company driver? While in school you sold me on going with kllm, but a recruiter there told me orientation was full for 6 weeks after I graduated. Had to get some mula in the bank way before then so I went with Werner. I have 30 hrs left in training before testout. Every time I see a kllm truck on the road I look to see if its you. Hard to tell most times. I still am thinking of working for kllm. Werner pay is low, but has decent trucks. Was also lucky to get a good trainer. The kllm recruiter told me to call back after 6 months with Werner. I'm sure hope I can get on with Yall then. I'll be western regional when called placement with Werner. Kinda wierd being I live in central Texas.

I have a buddy who did six months with Central and I have two friends who used to work for KLLM (until this last December) one for 2 years I think, and the other for almost 15 years. KLLM was by far the better company between the two. Of course, I have not worked there, so this is only second hand info so take it for what it's worth.

Best thing is to get your year in and then figure out what you want and find a company that offers that. What may be good for most people you run into may not be what you're looking for. It takes a while to figure it out though, so just spend your first year learning about all areas of trucking. Talk to as many different drivers pulling different things from tanker, to flatbed, to container, to... My favorite is tanker, while I have one buddy who will only do reefer, another flats, and another dry van. Its just "to each his own."

Good luck to you which ever route you take and DON'T LEASE A TRUCK until you have a couple of years under your belt...if at all. It seems that all the companies are really pushing the lease "deal" for about the past year.
