Just left Knight a week or so ago. Didn't do the 7 on 7 off thing but had a few buddies that did. Most of them said it was a little difficult and pay did work out quite right while doing it. It took the dispatchers a half day or more to get you under a load when you came back from off time and you usually ended your 7 on with a short day as well. They had to take the time to clean up whatever truck they were being given each time they went out which also took anywhere from an hour to 5 hours depending on the truck.
Most of my buddies also said it was difficult to anything like a decent long run since they were only going to be out 7 days (often turned into 10 if they got stuck sitting somewhere or there was no loads to get them home from wherever they went.
Since you are in Sac you will be being dispactched out of the Tulare office which means alot of I-5 corridor and if you end up in upper oregon or Washinton you may find yourself sitting there a few days wating on a load to get you home.
The final kicker is that you will most likely only be gettting about 1,000 to 1,500 miles during that week your out so you wont be making any money. 1,500 x .33 = $495 for the week so you would be taking home less than $900 a month.

nope, never went there. I was dispatched out of Tulare, Ca. and that was my home terminal. Thats why i know that the Sac area drivers are dispatched out of Tulare. But I am asking a friend for the address right now so i can let ya know.

To be honest, I wouldnt work for knight right now if I was you. Something wierd is going on with them right now and nobody has any sense of job security. Had a couple guys fired today in Phoenix for having a piss bottle in thier truck when they went through the gates at the phoenix yard. Some new spot cab inspection they are doing. You can do much better.

US 50 E, exit power inn road south, take fruitridge road east, take florin perkins rd south, 1st stoplight turn into the gate, after you go through the gate you'll see where the knight trailers are on the left, turn left at stop sign then left into yard.

Fired for having pee bottles?! Is that do to the possibility that they might spill and stain the carpet? In the old Centurys, the entire floor was rubber and could easily be washed out in between drivers.

Spot inspections of cabs at the Phx yard---never thought that it could get any worse than the incoming tire checks when I left---but Knight can always find ways to add more 'misery' to a driver's life!

BTW, the last year I was driving Express out of Phx, I never went into the yard during the day unless I had to---would find a place to park until after 6 PM...even if work week was done and had no reason to hurry home (Tucson, another 1 1/2 hr drive after cleaning out my truck).

Wow. That place got worse. I dint think it was possible.

Lemme ask you: what you supposed to do when you driving someplace where you can't find proper facilities? Oh, and you supposed to get dressed and walk into a T/S in the middle of the night just to piss? Considering you get crappy sleep as it is, that's even less crappy sleep.

That company treats the drivers like machines. If people are fine with that, knock yourself out. Long as they get away with it they'll just get worse, and eventually they WILL do something that gets to you. I was hoping by now word had spread and they couldn't get drivers no more. Let's see how far their trucks go without drivers. Robot technology isn't that advanced yet.

Sounds like maybe they are in a "down-size" mode, have a new standing order for a 100 used trucks, don't have a 100 used trucks, and are making some "available". Are they still shoving new drivers through orientation as many as they can or have they suspended orientations for the time being?
