A couple of questions, do they pay you the $400 during the first 3 weeks or so till you get your CDL and also are meals included? I researched this company a while back but I can't remember what I found out. Also I read somewhere that none of the trucks are immune to slipseating, I think this was a post by someone so I would appreciate knowing the truth of it one way or the other plz. I think I can deal with the terminal problems and I can scrape up the money for the meals if I have to I think, but slipseating is a deal killer for me personally. If I can get my own assigned truck then I will likely tell Prime that I have had it with their recruiters and move on.

They tell you that you must clean out your truck if taking a certain number of days off. It won't be used though more than likely. Mine were never touched while on vacation, not even by the shop for the PM's that were requested while I was gone. Wait about ten minutes and you'll see someone quitting and cleaning out thier truck...there's the loner truck. Just park amongst the 15 other empty trucks. They all have issues too as nobody writes anything up in the month their trying to get home to quit.

Ladies and Gentlemen-
This question goes to those who operate out of Texas for Knight, what's money like for company drivers that runs port drayage and which out of the two terminals deals with those drivers (Dallas and/or Houston)? Also does anyone knows how the owner operators are doing at Knight?
Thanks -

I have my own truck (2 payments left) with own tags and insurance and entertaining that idea........from when my mother drove with them the first time, I've turned them down simply because those kronies out of Katy has a tendency to talk to folks with no nuts. I've found myself twice chewing out my moms DM because he talked to her like she was a nobody and she's old enough to be his mother as well.........quite naturally he's no longer with Knight (THANK GOD) but in response to your comment, I don't think I am going to take that route but I just wanted to know for ####'s and grins how O/O's were doing.
My main deal is to find out how the drayage guys out the Texas Terminals are doing because it seems the recruiters are setting their baits out and before I let her make a rookie move, I would like to investigate.
Thanks TIREDNAZ for the feedback!tirednaz and TruckrWnnaB Thank this. -
Katy Terminal is dealing with Port. As far as O/O, you would have to call them to get specifics. If you like to run and work weekends, you can and will do decent at the port. I know the dispatcher personally and he will run you.

I just sent you a PM in your INBOX -
IMO as a company driver Knight is that same as the next guy but as a O/O nooo. I foolishly stayed for two months as a O/O with a truck I purchased from a dealer and took to them out of comfort mostly. (knew most of the folks in Phx) As I continued to drive and see what was up it was truly a scam IMO. You can't pick loads off the load board, FSC is a joke, you have to participate in there maintenance program even thought you would not dare to let a knight Part Changer touch your truck. All fuel is deducted from pay on Fridays regardless if you have delivered or not resulting in loads missed, due to turning down loads because of fore mentioned. Drive around looking for trailers on your dime. Tons of double booked loads. Plus just dealing with there dispatchers. If you can go someplace else go.
