I've read that each Knight terminal has a lot of latitude to run things how they want to. Therefore, drivers' experiences with Knight are vastly different, depending on their home terminals. Anyone with current or recent experience based at Las Vegas, please post. |

| knight transportation i just left knight after a year and a half...i have never been treated worse in the trucking industry that i was by knight. i am still waiting on my final pay check. i would not recomend this company to any driver. at frst things were good. after about 2 months it was spuratic...partly due to the economy. it continued to get worse right after the first of the year. they had at one time a 110% driver turnover....the termanals they have throughout the country tend to battle against each other for the good runs. hiding freight for thier termanl drivers rather put them in the system for the "FIRST MT FIRST LOADED" i missed several important family functions, even after giving my dispatch minnimum of 2 weeks notice. so if you are thinking about going to knight for a job think again. there are much more organized and driver friendly companies out there. |

| If you ain't getting miles or home time or both at knight they are probably trying to get you to quit. The people I know that work their are running their butts off 7-10 days and home for 1.5 -2 days in between. But they are go getters who put in 12-14 hrs a day while they are on the road and have shown themselves to be drivers that can be counted on to service the customers needs and pu and deliver loads on time and safely. A company would be dumb to dispatch first in and first out. They have to match loads with the right driver. Some of their freight incurred heavy fines if the load is late from what I am told. They don't want some driver that is scared to chain or can't read directions or prone to getting to tired to drive after 300 miles rolling time specific frt. Since Knight employs a local relationship with some of their customers it is natural that they would trust drivers they know out of their local terminal to run loads before drivers from far away. From what I have gathered from talking to knight drivers it is best to stay close to the terminal you work out of so your terminal can keep you rolling These days it is customer first, driver second. Don't like putting in the long hours and playing the games that being a successful OTR driver require? drive local like me |

The driver I know best at Knight runs west regional and has not had less then 2400 miles in a 7 day period since march and usually will do 2600 to 2900 a week. Her last 10 day time out she went from Spanaway Wa to San Jose Ca to Tracy Ca to Spokane Wa to lewiston ID to Auburn Wa to Portland Or to Redlands Ca to El monte Ca To Redlands Ca to Puyallup Wa. She did 1 local and 3 loads required bumping a dock, everything else was a D&H . Took yesterday off and is on her way to Phoenix Az after a restart. |

| Portland, OR Kabar, which terminal did you work out of? I'm thinking about moving to the Portland area and wonder how it is to work for Knight in the Northwest. |
