They both went separate ways from the team. One went to another company and leased a truck. The other is still at Knight driving a dedicated type run that gets him home almost daily. Weekends off.

yep

yes Smith Transport, I talked to recruiting and right now teams are on hold for FL... you can both join as single and run till you are married... my third day running with Smith and was able to go 68mph with rewards... cruise control does help.. very family friendly company... let me know if you want your name dropped to the recruiters. some money in my pocket for a referral. They run 24x7 dispatch 365 days a year. fast response to any messages.. they do suggest routes and give you a predetermined fuel stop(s). So far I am very happy with their method of business. Almost all the top brass still hold valid CDL's and have been know to grab a tractor to get a load. They give you up front money for tolls, scales, etc.. ..Let me know if you need a number and a recruiter.. could refer you to the one I had.. up front and if she did not know an answer, she found it out.. no lies.. Mark

We would rather pull doubles.....no one is hiring here...

Would appreciate any comments...thanks guys & gals - keep the rubber side down...~lol~
I have lived in Phoenix, Az. all my life and have known many drivers who have had the misfortune to be employed by Knight. Bascially it is run like a Swift co.. They put so much into recruiting and thats where it ends. Once your in they treat you like crap. That is what I hear, but I have never worked for them or Swift and wouldn't if it was the last trucking co. on earth..Good luck in Fla...RoadDog

I appreciate all that you have done however we will keep looking as we do not wish to run as singles. No offense to solo drivers but I can not think of anything worse than to be on your own out on the road, it has to be so so lonely....~smiles~

Thanks again and hope you have a great day....

Hi RoadDog

Yeah we have done some research and have discovered this is pretty accurate with regards to Knight...its a shame, they have good equiupment but appear to loose the plot when it comes to the drivers, perhaps one day they will sort it out...~laughing~ Appreciate the info though.

We have a couple of companies that we are very interested in so will keep our fingers crossed....Have a great day...Sacred ))

Hate to say this, but you also must remember it's January "DEAD Season" for a lot of company's. My husband has had more than enough trouble getting mileage with Knight, has walked out on them ( had another job lined up ) but they called him that night and begged for him to come back. Saying you are on of the best drivers for our terminal, haha yeah right then why didn't he get mileage like he needed.

He is now a team driver at Knight, two weeks ago his partner hit an elk and took out the truck...they gave them another one within in 2 days the computer chip in that truck went out. They sat for one whole week..did Knight comp then NO WAY! Paid them $ 90.00 bucks for only 2 days. Talk about cheap and what a way to loose your drivers. As a team they are getting better mileage, but how do you recover from a week of sitting.

As far as the pay roll its all online now. If you want a copy of a stub you can just print one out..it is a pain when you need all of them for things, but that's the way they are doing it now.

Hope things get better. Driving is a hard profession not just for the drivers, but also their families when there are not a whole lot of loads going or when things just don't go right. Take care and hopefully things will get better..
