Unfortunately, It's True

Knight will probably do it again soon. They want their money, so they will cut drivers' pay to pay management, etc.

The pay used to be 38 cents. Knight cut it to 36 cents when I got there last year. In January of this year, they cut it again to 33 cents. They will keep cutting wages to pay upper management and claim it's for the good of the company.

Let me be blunt.

If you are willing to swallow your pride, dignity and kiss ### all the time, yes, you may get some miles.

Most of the terminals are NOT worth working with because the terminals don't want to help each other at all. WHY? Because Knight terminals are actually run like independently owned franchises. Knight runs likes a corporation, NOT a company. If you run from a terminal, you are considered a driver from that terminal, NOT a Knight 'Company' Driver.

Nothing but problems occur all the time. There are a handful of drivers who will actually say 'nice' things about Knight. Anyone who says 'nice' things about a bad company probably still works there or has friends who are still employed there.

I was suprised that a mng at Knight not only thought about what was best for the company but what was best for me. nice to know that there are some good people out there.

They needed to get rid of you because you live too far from their terminal in Idaho! They used you to move reefer freight and don't need you anymore because there is enough west coast drivers to cover the little freight they have left. Since there is a terminal near Memphis, they said you should go there.

The only reason you weren't fired or let go is because the west coast terminal employ more 'human beings' than most of the Knight terminals.

That's right, it's 31 cents a mile, and if you are taking deep, I mean, on the per diem plan, the company burns 2 pennies off the top. Gotta make that payment to the temple in SLC you know!

But yeah, get off the per diem plan, you are losing money left and right being on it! It's the one thing I tell everybody to do ASAP.

And now that Tulare and Phoenix drivers don't have to worry about snow they are willing to drive the loads farther instead of dumping them in the yards like they do between Sept and April.
Yeap, I can't even take 10 hours when I'm at "home" but I'll be damned if there isn't 10 other out of the area drivers sitting for days in my home area waiting for loads.

You also forgot Las Vegas, you don't want to know how many loads I drag down from Vegas to LA cesspool because Vegas won't send their drivers down there. Heck for almost a month that's what I did, 300 mile loads from Vegas to LA, LA to Phoenix, Phoenix to Vegas.

I am going to start ignoring the fuel routing that sends me to the Phoenix yard, I'm not going to waste my time getting in and out of that ###### farm.

How many miles is no miles, Knight isn't overflowing with miles you know. And don't believe the recruiters, they don't know a thing about the company! Mine told me I had 300 gallon tanks on my Volvo, we have 225.

If you believe that you'll make money at Knight going from a 47 cent per mile down to 40 cents (isn't that like only from 50-100 mile loads?) Well.

The pay is as follow: 200< .39/ 200-299 .37/ 300-399 .35/ 400-499 .33/ 500> .31

I got to start .04 higher but they don't do that any more.
