I am an expierenced truck driver of 20+ years who has been out of it for 6 years or so, will I have to start as a trainee?? Some of my past companies went out of biz and will be hard to contact for references. Does Knight give road test and decide on a case by case situation? I live in South Florida and have lots of reefer (grocery) experience and want to work out of Lakeland FL with Knights reefer fleet eventually wanting to do a lease purchase. Any info will be helpfull so I dont waste my time of Knights time. Thanx

I'll try to go thru it point by point.

    1. If they hire you you'll certainly have to go out with a trainer. Most likely they won't hire you at all though.

    2. They do road tests and yes that has some input on whether your hired and what kind of indentured servitude you'll be required to do before going into your own truck.

    3. My friend tried L/P at knight refrigerated and failed to complete the lease. He now owns his own truck and is doing well. There l/p program isn't geared for the driver to succeed on the miles they have.
