True, just in La Porte. They shut down a week or so ago. All the west coast port operations are still going strong. There is obviously more to the story but they weren't making much money over there on that deal. If the Port ever goes "clean air" like in Cali I would expect them to make a quick return to set up shop.

Another old thread revived. I ran port from Phoenix to Long Beach I left due to theft when truck was in shop. My buddy is still there in Phoenix they overhauled the port and rail division a bunch of people were canned and replaced. He said it is much better now he likes it again. I agree soon with Mexico opening port will be tight and may have to revamp. Even with Mexican port the cost to cross border and safety will be a major factor.

Yeah I seen the date but because its one of the very few threads that pops up on a search thought I would say something on it.

I don't think the mexico port will be much of a factor. Getting trucks across will take more time and being on the tight schedules these loads are already on I don't see it being much of a factor.

Not to mention the added cost of sending a driver into mexico.

Any O/Ops, even L/Ops running Knight port? Costs and Rate / Type of Pay? Thanks

Since the "agreement" yet to be a "contract", port operations in LA/PHX are about like one would want. Terminal are operating pretty well so far. 4 turns this week, probably next week too. Nice after a whole week off, and a 2 turn week the previous week. Before that, 3 turns a week was not that hard to get done.
