:biggrin_2559: I'm a 5 yr 'survivor' of working at Knight---hired on when it had a reputation for being a driver's co. and saw it go down hill in becoming a Swift wannabe co. But I left with a clean record and gracefully, not yielding to the many times that I wanted (and had good reason) to walk off the job!

If you want to see if I'm a 'dispatcher,' 4 posts newbie, read the rest of my posts on this forum going back several years.....[IMG]

Would not matter to me if they were or are dispatchers (DM's) . A "DM , driver manager" to me is nothing more than a "Planner's secretary" the planner finds your next load & passes it along to the DM , then he assigns it to the driver !! Still haven't figured out why they are called "Planners" , they do not look at your hours or how long you have been out or if your truck needs repairs or they see is a load near you ( within 200 miles ) and then they put it on your Qualcomm !! As long as we are changing titles of positions , I will be known not as a truck driver , but as a "Freight relocater" . This story I have told here is wondering past its content , so I end this post by saying Good luck to you all !!

To be fair it's the DM's responsibility to know the particulars( HOS, time out, preferred running area, etc.) for each of his drivers and inform the planner if a particular load won't work for that driver. The DM might have around 50 drivers but the load planner has 250 or more trucks to plan out. It a short haul model like knight,s he simply doesn't have the time to do much more then a cursory location check for each truck before throwing a load on them.

I read it ask why a driver with lots of years would go to Knight, well sometimes no one else will give you a chance, like after a roll over. Knight will at least try to get it put threw. Weather or not it happens let you know next week. Scheduled Wednesday for the drive test followed by wed thurs orientation. So let you know. already requested a Volvo, hopefully it will go thru. I will be a Phoenix driver as far as terminals.

Since my accident on 12/20 I have applied to over 100 companies big and small, if you can think of them I have probably applied there. 4 would give me a chance. IWX, Brent Redmond, CFL Santa Maria, and Knight Phx.

So far its down to Knight and CFL, hopefully Knight going to give me a chance. Means alot.

I went there for convenience , close to home & had the "Rider & Pet Policy" I needed . Seems some people here are quick to judge others , maybe should be looking in a mirror !! NEVER JUDGE A MAN , it's NOT your job !!
