After getting my medical certification (2 year) and my CDL permit, I was "pre-admitted" to the Squire CDL school in Olive Branch too. I drove myself instead of the bus ticket they will send you. I started this last Monday, 3/17. All was going well until end of day Tuesday. When I was leaving my recruiter called me over to tell me that she had received an email from higher ups in Arizona that they were going to "pass" on me! I cannot get anyone to give me an explanation as to why. They will not reimburse anything that I have spent..travel or the $100 (medical and drug test). Completely rediculous when they have the ability to know all about you before you waste time and money to attend. And, yes I passed the drug screens.

This seems to be pretty common at Knight. There was a guy who posted last year how he was at the Phoenix terminal for orientation and they just sent him home out of the blue for no reason.

Im looking into Knight lakeland also and was wondering how the pay was? I would do the 14 out/7 in deal.

Squire is .28 to .34 I think. Sliding pay scale. They may have bumped the low end go to .32cpm. That's what I was told anyway. Lakeland will run you as hard as you want to run. Plenty of freight. After Squire its something like .35 to .44. I'm sure you know you will slip seat with 7 days off.

This is somewhat true. I would have to correct you on the pay scale. The new scale is 32-41 while in training during your probationary 30k miles solo and than you get bumped up to the 35-44 after the squire program. Now before you get to Lakeland to do the 7-14 slip, you will have to do 28 days OTR with a trainer. No if ands or but's about it. Now they can however, ship you to lakeland to do your 28 days with a local trainer, but either way you have to have no less than 28 days with a trainer. During your weeks that you are IN the truck, you will be paid 400/week until you go solo.

Now the slip seating, it depends on which one you take advantage of. I know they have a PT 7-7 where you slip seat with 1 driver and than you have a 7-14 where you slip seat with 2 other guys with 7 days a piece. If it is just a local gig, some guys get paid per load and so on. For instance, they have a tire account out of Memphis that runs just tires and they get paid per load/ per stop incentive/ and than offloading all tires a per tire offlaod pay. So it just depends on what you get hooked on with during that schedule.

Actually I said Lakeland terminal has plenty of freight, which they do. I ran mostly in the southeast, and some midwest. Had preplans on qualcom before I delivered the load I was on. Sat one time in Ga. which was the fault of Publix not Knight. Knight threw me some extra money for sitting. Point being, There was plenty of freight for me to run!
