Just finished up my orientation with Knight this past Thursday (short week due the holiday). Now waiting to get setup with a trainer. Anyone care to share what the next 4-6 weeks will be like? Thanks!

you will be tired, hungry, drity, angry, lonely,& miserable, unless you already came from that world then it's just more of the same..No not really, you'll be living with a complete stranger in small, cramp quaters, getting on each others nerves, wondering when and where to eat & shower, sitting at shippers & recievers for countless hours upon hours for little to no pay

Best of luck. It won't be pleasant but you'll be on your own soon enough. I spent 10 days on my trainers truck many years ago at Schneider. We got along great and still remain friends to this day. That was more than enough time to get the basics down. I fine tuned the rest of my skills on my own.
Does Knight operate training trucks as a solo operation? -
I understand it isn't as pleasant as living at home, however I do get the fact that I need to learn how to do the job. As with any job it can be as good or bad as you choose to allow it to be, I just choose to not allow the negativity to outweigh the good. I am looking forward to having my trainer with me for a month so I can learn the job well and be productive on my own.

Yes Knight operates training trucks as a solo truck, no team driving. That is one thing that really attracted me to Knight is that you will get more experience driving with your trainer next to you the whole time. I don't really feel you can learn much with the trainer sleeping or you sleeping while he is driving.

I agree 100%. Any company that operates trainer trucks as a team is one to steer clear of.

Bad thing of it is, most of the companies that train run team trucks during training. I think its incredibly stupid on the part of the company, if the driver is good enough to drive with the trainer sleeping then he is good enough to drive solo. They just keep you in training so they can pay you less, get more $$ for the trainer, and run the truck harder. Nothing I want a part of.

That's right, cheap labor. You would have to be brain dead to sleep while some noob motors on down the interstate.
