I was wondering if Knight uses the... put your earnings into your account and it is there for you. Also that you or anyone you designate has access to the money?

I am working for a non-trucking company that has a direct deposit plan. However, they have a stipulation that if they feel they deposited some money into your account in error, they are able to access your account to recover the funds. (If you participate in the plan, you automatically agree to their terms) Just want to be sure Knight doesn't have such a thing.

    Thanks

thats how direct deposit works for anyone & everyone..there are laws on the books that say any company, persons,or institutions that use DD they can also take out what they put in,they can not take out any other money that they did not put in or that would stealing..DD is the best way to go,,even with that little disturbing rule.best way to beat them at their own game is to have another account that you can transfer the DD to as soon as you get it or get a seperate account for DD only

    Cali Hawk Thanks this.

I did not know that. And yes, that rule is disturbing to me. Little did I know for the last 25 years...
Agreed DD is the way to go and I like the idea of setting up a separate acct to isolate that money.
    Thanks.

On another note does Knight have per-diem? If so, is it mandatory? I prefer not to have the per idem forced on me.

Knight has per-diem but it is your choice.

They have per diem and everyone at the terminal will try to sell it to you. They want everyone to try it for 90 days I believe it was. I was on it for two pay periods then opted out. As far as DD, I was on it for my entire time there. Never had any issues with them taking anything back from me.

    Thanks for your responses.

I guess I could have waited to talk to someone at Knight, but I figure drivers have more insight to the questions.

    Again, thank you.
