I worked for 9 months and really struggled to make money. I even stayed out a month at a time and only went home for three days. It's a 34,000 $ a year job period working there. Each terminal fights too be number one in the company. I always got a descent load out of my terminal in olive branch, ms. Which is called memphis. The only problem was every time you get around other terminals they can run you. You have to pick up local deliveries and deliver for a few days before you can get a load away from them. When you get close to another it repeats itself. No miles!!!! If you break down there employees have priority over you. Then if no freight to keep from paying you lay over pay they will make you take your trailer and drop at another location to pay you $16.00 instead!!!! Getting them to reimburse expenses forget it they still owe me $300.00 when I complained to corporate they said they only had one employee that did that and she was just behind. Bo is over the terminal there is a super great guy that works very hard to see to it you do good but he has no control over the other terminals. Another big problem is wasting your clock driver all over looking for trailers ( no pay) for that. They let too many companies use them for storage at these big contracts. But the hands that have been there 10 years or more do well they have the good dedicated runs is why, and I understand they worked their way up and earned that right.

Sounds like NOTHING has changed in 10 years. That is exactly the experience I had. Just wait until you TRY to quit...these guys will keep you as far from your home terminal as possible, claiming "there's no freight going that way" for an entire month, while trying to get you to abandon the truck at another terminal, and going home on your own dime---so they can slam you for an "abandonment". Did not work for me....I put up with their crap for 4 weeks until THEY caved and got me to Eagan, MN. instead of Denver, CO. / Salt Lake City, UT. / Fontana, CA. (three places they tried to get me to leave the truck that is numbered for, and issued in Eagan, MN.).

I see nothings changed in the last 16years? I worked there and saw exactly that myself. Then realized As long as you still have that grind attitude in being all knighted you may get home. But once they figuring your going to quit them? Your done...getting close to home, think again. I gave the DM supervisor my 2weeks notice...as you would think they would be seasoned enough to know what turnover is? And expect that to a degree. Your dispatcher has his quotas he/she has to have met standards to justify having a job,&if a driver quits? Awe well thats going to become an abandoned truck in the field. Because they will make sure you fall into that catch22. So, I just smiled a fake like attitude said,"Oh no...I thought about it yes, but pastures are just as green here as I understand the knight ways better now knowing im most familiar with it today than yesterday and Im not going anywhere...fyi." Then I got back home within my 3week out being shorter than my ever previous hometimes? 'Cause I likes to run hard and stay out longer than most others. Home time never was a big deal with me anyways. But They did get me back. I washed and vacuumed out dusted,&detailed amoral wiped and feather dusted for the best of the following day.Engine cleaned ect. Lubed and greased with newly scraped off the old grime on the 5th. To Lucas lubed and ready for the next sucker to have a quality of nice steering to go with getting my truck with nothing to worry about. I then carried it to the mechanics and got it signed as "returned in mint condition"with clean interior," and "lubed ready for service"...walked inside the terminal and handed my dispatcher my keys to the truck. And said today is my 3rd and last week I will ever work for Knight again. Bye! Im been platform securement hual since. And everyday is always a new challenge to meet skills needed to staying safe in this game and nothing beats daylight HOS. Most enjoyable. But the traffic especially doing unescorted runs ...still sucks when close to bigger multiplexes of big cities. So, I actually cannot really give any good advise on giving anybody a 2weeks notice of quitin thier job? Seems to be alot of selfish individuals out there to make one fail in life as ever being a channel for them trying to improve and move on? Just saying my 2 cents worth. :) C-ya.

Yep, everyone needs time making a decision of wondering if its the right decision on quiting or not? What helps me is, is taking time to show a reflection on my best efforts made. And alot of that comes from maybe the last time I ever see someone. Maybe the next guy that gets my old, left behind can appreciate something well tooking care off? And then again dispatch had alot to do with that final bye. So, there you have it. I can still count on one hand all the companies & including individuals, I have ever worked for in the last 40years...can you? And I only have 1) remark on my DAC & its neither good nor bad. But its there...and contest it? Does no good. Big bussiness companies will treat you as a number to meet quota needs...if you allow yourself to work for pee*nies...if you quit, even with notice of 2weeks? Expect havac raised against you in lies made.**Rule number #1.** Best just keep your mouth shut,** go over head. And follow through as hired somewhere, b4 leaving...spend a day back to shine up that tractor in better than recieving it...@ the designated place recieving it...& move on. And let the haters hate...no debate about it. **See rule number one.
