I don't care where you work, if you don't pay attention to your paycheck, sooner or later you are going to get screwed. May be deliberate, may not be deliberate, but mistakes do happen.

Well what one main issue that we were having is that they decided to pull half of the payroll people out in Phoenix and have them dedicated to preparing the W2's for tax season. Now that they are all back on the full swing of things, as of Today they were all back in office and answering questions and calls in an orderly fashion rather than the 4 hour hold period some were going through.

The only issue I had was reimbursement for receipts turned in, after I talked with my terminal manager, 1 email into payroll and it was rectified. From what I heard they are almost completely caught up with the 700 email back log they did have starting this week off also.

In the last year my payroll was correct maybe ten times. That's not a mistake here or there. Just this month they have only got my check correct one time.

I have NEVER seen this kind of problem before in my time. Including other companies. And before any of you think the higher ups don't know about it guess again.

While it might sound like a big fish story I got the pleasure of speaking to Larry knight about this myself. My DM got so sick of the problem and me getting mad him he really rocked the boat and ended up giving me his cell number and told me to complain to the top.

I did and all I was told was a bunch of lies. Like Larry has time to look in on my pay every week. That was six months ago.

    No change.

You seem to have alot of pent up frustration. What I don't understand is if you are having so many issues with Knight why the heck are you still here ? If its such a problem cut the string and find another company, why work somewhere if your unhappy I just dont understand.

Now that is the question I couldn't answer myself. Why do I keep doing this? There is other places that not only pay more but actually care. Yet I kept on going.

To be honest it was like an abusive relationship. Just couldn't get out. When I tried I was promised things would change. Give it another few months and Nada. Try to leave again and again would get talked down. Talking me into staying.

I'm not saying there isn't some good things that I enjoyed but as time went on those things failed. I was in a division with over 100% turnover. Now that's impressive.

I have just as much to blame in this mess for allowing it to go that far.

I can confirm some of what has been said already. Track everything. Every load, your time spent on local runs or spotting empties and especially expenses like tolls. All of these things can and will get overlooked fairly consistently. Is it deliberate? Who can say for sure. Should we, as drivers, have to audit every paycheck for accuracy? No of course not. It's a pain in the rear! But in my experience if you do not you will have more than a few errors.

Driver I don't care where you work, or what your line of work is. A person who does NOT pay attention to his paycheck for accuracy is not very wise. Should we have to? No, of course not. But the world being what it is, you need to. Just like so many other things in life, take a few seconds to see that you have protected yourself. It isn't being paranoid, it is being realistic and intelligent. Make your property a little harder to steal than the next guy. Make your paycheck a little harder to screw with than the next guy. Same exact thing.

Sure that's common sense and good advice. Regardless of where I worked I would check every pay stub to make sure I was paid correctly. The difference seems to be in every other industry I've worked in an error on your paycheck was pretty rare. In trucking it happens way too consistently. And Knight continues to prove that.
