Does anyone have an idea of what Knight pays for detention?:dontknow:

I have viewed their webpage, look over their contract, reviewed their confirmation sheet. There is no rate for detention pay....It does say to report all accessorial charges (layover, detention time, lumpers........ect.) within 24 hours of getting empty but no rate.
Stuck at Fedex in Memphis for the last 12 hours and they say they may be done by 1pm today. Can't find my trailer:Trailer:, the yardman says it is out there somewhere and when they are done they will bring it back to me

Ok, I just spoke with the Broker that I booked this load with and here is her sad story.....$30 an hour up to 5 hrs. and that is $150.00 a day layover....which would start over again at 7pm tonight. So my driver that has been at Fedex since 7 pm last night has made $150.00 for the 17 hrs he has been stuck there, and they have not gotten him empty yet, Fedex said maybe by 9pm, so the Broker said if they release us by nine that would be an additional $60.00 added to his original layover of $150.00 and she said that is their policy. (I couldnt find it on their website, their carrier contract or the confirmation sheet).....

And we are missing the next load we are suppose to pick up that was paying $2050.00.

$210.00 the driver is making versus the $2050.00 he is supposed to BE making.....there has to be something that can be done.....THERE HAS TO BE!:biggrin_25513::biggrin_25521:

Knight only pays for detention if they can "collect" from shipper or consignee. That applies to any trucking company that says they pay for detention. If they do not collect, guess what, you will not be paid anything. They will not push it to maintain the customer's account. Your detention pay is of secondary importance to them.

Knight will collect and deny it...they don't like paying anyone...not even their own people.
