If they tell you load is not ready at your appt time, then you are detained waiting to pu the load. Knight does not give p.o. numbers for detention only hours and layover. Detention is billed to the customer and probably not paid unless in and out times are on the BOL and or the customer agrees to pay it. She told me that any money you are owed for a trip other then miles must be given a p.o. number for and submitted with the trip and entered on the trip sheet. If not then you usually won't get paid for it. She has her dp issue her p.o. for detention as something else like local hours. She says at Knight no matter what anyone says, if it does not have a P.O. number payroll won't pay it. |
That's the problem I was having. My DM quit before he issued the p.o.'s for my layover. The Safety guy in Katy, TX "Kevin" said that anything my DM said is irrelevent. These days I am referring to are full 24hr periods in which I received no dispatch!! 3 days in San Antonio, TX, 2 days in Tacoma, WA, 2 days in Lewiston, ID.
Just a follow-up for everyone on my complaint with the Texas Labor Board; they did receive my complaint form and have contacted Knight. The letter from the Labor Board said they would reach a decision by June 26, 2008. Knight is given 90 days to explain or justify why they are refusing to pay. Haha... good luck, I got BOL's, log books, E-mails, phone records, all the documentation!
