I talked to CFI yesterday and they are offering .36 cpm plus .5 cpm extra in Eastern states. plus I get either a t2000 or t600. just that alone makes me happy

And at the end of the year, same letter showing concern for not taking more $ home, automatically put him on Per Diem..AGAIN! Happened every year!! A by-the-way, talked to him today, and he mentioned that those letters came signed by 'Recruiting Dept!' FYI, all recruiters lie, but Knight's also lie about Max Govd Speed (say its 66 mph, but many trucks are at 64 mph and some have Rewards so that your Idle Time must be a certain %). He said once, while carrying a heavy load out of the Virgin River Gorge of AZ going thru St. George, UT, his max govd speed dropped from 66 to 64 mph while 'climbing the long hill and during a 'pass'!! Needless to say, he was pissed!!

Go for it man. I haven't heard to many bad things about CFI. I do know they were bought out by Conway and you may have to be out on the road for quite awhile before you make it back to the house...

I've been with night since Feb 05.

In large part your experience with this company will be determined by the following(in order of importance).

Which terminal you run out of.
Which division you're physically in at the moment(iow, where u delivered)
The planner
Your dispatcher.

Some, well most actually, terminals at this company I absolutely wouldn't work for. I drive out of the Tulare terminal. They get me good loads and the shop there is top notch and quick. Pheonix terminal might as well paint there trucks white and put a lightening bolt on the side of them.

Seems whenever I wind up in Seattle I get screwed. This last month has been horrible because I took a load back to Georgia and they have real crappy freight back east right now.

That said, when I stay closer to home and avoid other terminals I get 2800+ miles per week. So that means California north of the grapevine, New Mexico, Eastern Oregon/Washington, Idaho.

Day 5) Still in Portland yard, finally dispatched on a load around noon going from Portland, OR to Toledo, OR same day delivery. (supposed to be picking up at same facility after unloaded). Day 6) Still at customer had a mishap on the knight brokerage side and them forgetting to confirm load with customer. load finally ready at 1700 needing to be in Wallula, WA at or before midnight (according to knight and my bills) arrive at customer with load at 23:30 only to find that tthe customer had been shut down since 2030 and would not reopen for another 47.5 hours (2300). Day 7) got ahold of knight finally who then decides to make me sit on the load ((go figure)) Day stuck at customer Day 9) check in with customer at 2300. Day 10) finally empty and away from the dock at 1030. Move over to customers trailer yard and contact dispatch. Dispatch tells me to sit tight their working on freight for me. Finally get a load assignment 1300. Load delivers next day to Reno, NV. Day 11) Deliver load at 2300 when my appointment is. Day 12) Sat in Reno, NV until 2100 waiting for my next load to be ready. Finally got it ready and headed for Redwood City, CA. Day 13) Arrived at customer at 0300 not scheduled to be unloaded until 1000 got a space in the dock at 0800 swapped to the empty trailer there pulled around front sent in all the information needed and ready for another load at 0900. Dispatch informed me there was nothing close for the day so i was supposed to sit yet again. Day 14) Finally got a load at 0900 pickup at 1000 23 miles away. picked up load only to run down to LA and be expected to sit the entire weekend in our crappy yard in LA so instead i went home.... This has been a typical 2 week period for me over the past month. They say freight volume has increased and if that were so why would i now be sitting more than i have since i started with the company 6 months ago. Its not like im restricted to a 3, 6 or 11 state area. I am perfictly willing to run from coast to coast just not a few select citys on the east coast that ive had some trouble in before.
I got one question that everyone who read this post should ask... If this was your truck would you ever in a million years let this happen?? One call to the terminal manager and this Dispatcher would be toast.

Also, the .42/mile as for runs 100 miles or less--was stair stepped up to 400 miles/run (including Dhead). If starting base is .33/mile, then runs of 300-400 miles get the driver .35/mile---NOT .42/mile! He said biggest problem driving for Knight is "Lo Miles' and hunting for MT's (lack of trlrs with 2.1 trlr/tractor ratio).

Umm I understand its 0-200 miles 42CPM 200-300-38CPM 300-500 36CPM 500+ 34CPM to start with 3 1 CPM raises in the first year.
