Thanks G/MAN.I need to here this.I have heard every single war story you could imagine.I have had so many people frown on me going on my own..With all that negitivity i became brainwashed into staying with Land Crap were it is ''safe'' but also getting RIPPED OFF on a daily basis from these CON MEN JEWS FROM NEW YORK..Yes that is correct. These people that run the show at LandCrap are from the east coast Mafia. Many people do not realize that these wise guys are common east coast greedy crooks..:biggrin_2559:

I am not going to lie but i have 200k backing me up.I need to #### or get off the pot and start dissappearing slowly from these people. These Landstar people are becoming NUTS and MICRO MANAGING and treating us like little babies with diapers on..!!!!!...Enough is Enough.

I have to ride this dedicated run out and get in touch with my OOIDA REP and read up more on my own Auth in these forums..I have to get another trailer and start making phone calls and researching.

I have to gain all the knowledge from people with there own AUTH and learn this..I am on my last leg with these Nazi's here at LandCrap...

You can go to the fmcsa website and apply for your authority online. You just follow the directions and fill in the blanks. Pay the $300 filing fee, pay your insurance, get your registered agents (OOIDA will do this for you at no charge if you are a member). In a few short weeks, you will have your authority active and be ready to do business. You can expect it to take up to 6 weeks from the time you apply, although some have gotten their authority back in less than 30 days. If you plan on getting your authority, you need to start by checking around for insurance rates. There is a sticky on this forum about the steps to get your authority. With insurance, you will need a minimum of $1 million liability and $100,000 cargo in order to do business with most brokers and shippers. The feds now only require $750,000 liability, but brokers won't book loads with you unless you have at least $1 million. That is a good place to start and will give you an idea of what it will take to get started.

Hey G/Man great info and thanks so much. landstar8891 you're so right too. All points on the Landstar bashing are 100% true. For those who must deal with Landstar's erroneous fees, unreasonable compliance mandates, ill-informed staff robots who can only recite what they read on paper vs. the knowledgeable capability to answer any question or provide any reasonable justification for their bizarre policies that creep up over-night....I feel sorry for them. I have had enough of Landstar's BS over the past years and especially now with this mandated elogs on me. I have been making arrangements to make a clean break from Landstar effective immediately. Can't take the slow bleeding pain. I agree Enough-Is-Enough!

I gained some knowledge today.I called my Lawyer and my Accountant.I was informed if i am just the driver i DO NOT need Workers Comp. This is savage for myself.I also learned i want to pay my Lawyer 300.00 and he will get me all set up on my LLC...

I then called Landstar Broker Dept. This lady was a very nice lady and told me what to do.Basically everything G/MAN said was correct..Once i have this i can apply to Landstar and start hauling my landstar loads..My payday will be every 15-25 days or i can give 1% and get paid in 20-48 hours..

I have talked to a few guys i have known and they are looking for a trailer for me.A friend said he can get me a 2000 van for around 5-6K...

My g/f is a whiz on business and computers. She said she would step up and help me with the paper work,IFTA and all DOT wants me to have in place...

This is how far i got today.Tomorrow i will be calling OOIDA and asking for help and direction...

I HOPE TO BE DONE WITH LANDSTAR RANGER RIPPING ME OFF.....:biggrin_25524:

Aint this the truth though. It amazes me how truly STUPID these people are..So after a long talk with a few of my Independent Friends i realized i can run my OWN SHOW much better than this Landstar Dumbed down $7.50 an hour crew...After watching this for the last 20 years i believe i myself have much much more knowledge than these idiots reading a SCRIPT in front of them...ENOUGH IS ENOUGH LANDSTAR...I want to ask Jewish Henry Gerkins who the hell is driving the bus over here..?.It's for certain it is not ex truckers and BCO's who know what the hell is going on around here...

Amen landstar8891, Landstar did use to be one of the best companies in the USA. Agree with you totally, the big heads there are getting just bigger at the driver's expense sadly. At this point they don't care. They would rather sign on new rookies that don't have a clue, then have experience and safety on their ratings. Good luck to you in your new ventures.
