Just wanted to let everyone know how my talk with Landstar Log Dept went.I wanted to warn all Landstar Drivers with a company van to watch out for Landstar moving forward with there E-LOG AGENDA..

The Sky Bitz is a very inaccurate tool for ''Tracking'' drivers HOS and Logs...This has been proven time and time again.

Keep in mind,it is good enough for Landstar to start MANDATING BCO's on the EBABYSITTER...As flawed as the sky bitz system is,(and it is)it will be good enough for Landstar's agenda to have all BCO's on board with an E-LOG...

You have been warned..As it sits now Landstar has built up enough BCO's on the E-Log(over 50%) to start mandating the rest of the fleet.

This was Landstar's intent from day #1.They could not just mandate this in the beginning in fear of all of us quiting. So they had to go to plan B.They have reached the 60% threshold and now they are hammering away everyday to push there agenda forward. They are looking for anything they can find to take paper logs from BCO'S...

SHAME ON LANDSTAR..SHAME ON LANDSTAR..SHAME ON LANDSTAR..SHAME ON LANDSTAR..

It's much more than just accept it and move on guys! The original post is 100% accurate. LANDSTAR IS ON A PROFIT MOTIVE WITH THEIR MANDATE AND IT IS COMING OUT OF YOUR POCKET!!!!!!!!!! While it is true that most of us certainly do not want electronic logs, we all have to agree that it will be a federal requirement for all of us soon. The main problem is the methods in which Landstar has chosen to force e logs upon the independent contracted drivers to their OWN PROFIT benefit. Search it yourself guys. Landstar publishes that you can use an outside service provider, but then later tells you that the service is not compatable with their information system. It's total BS. All they want is to have all BCO's on their own plan program and charge their own devised monthly fee, which by the way is substantially higher than obtaining the service independently. Hence once again increasing their already huge profits. This "gouging" is unreasonable. Not to mention, they proposed this program to BCO's in the beginning as elective but the original poster is 100% correct that Landstar is on a mission to now force all BCO's to be on the system. Landstar mandated this on us just recently solely based upon a very minor log violation.

Just got a message from a new BCO I was tyring to help get started out here a while back.....here's what it's coming to now......

"I got a notice in the mail from Landstar about me violating my 14 hour rule by 0.10 hours back in June. Do I need to call them and follow up on it or can I just toss the notice?"

There is other news to share but I will wait for a bit. LS is officially now just another ho hum company who wants trained monkeys turning steering wheels.......no experience needed, please apply within!!!! Present company excluded.....

Right on man..Dart pays 3.50 a month for e-logs..Landstar charges the BCO's 23.00...Did someone say PROFIT PROFIT PROFIT at the allready struggling BCO's..?

If you asl L/S they will deny that they make any money at all on the E-LOG...lets see....Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

    8000 BCO's x $23.00 = 184000
