Landstar has become an extension of freight brokers. LS doesn't care if you know how much of its freight is from brokers because LS itself is a broker. They don't need BCO's because they prefer outside carriers, but if you still want to lease onto LS, you can and be forced to install an EOBR.

Keep in mind that ALL broker freight is available to anyone with a good safety rating, insurance, their own authority, a CDL, a semi-truck, and a trailer. There really is no reason to haul a brokered load for LS. You are shorting yourself 25% or more of the line haul for no reason at all.

LS has a brokerage website and they provide outside carriers almost the same benefits that they provide their own BCO's with. After over a decade of time at LS, I have seen the freight go to almost all brokered freight. Do yourself a favor, and find your own customers, or work with your own brokers. LS is trying to compete with CH Robinson and they have positioned themselves as their own 3PL. You want to make it in trucking? Find your own customers online and allow them to track your truck with your cell phone. You will make out well and you wont be supporting people who just want to pocket money on your hard work. All they do is answer the phone and they get paid for it. And the BCO's are making that happen!

I rarely haul brokered freight, of course I followed the old skool LS strategy of having a couple core agents that have great freight. BTW, what makes you think you'll always get the same rate from a broker that the LS agent will? Have you ever had your own authority??? I see quite a few people on here that don't have an MC# telling others they should get one instead of being "cheated".

I have taken off my Landstar Rose Colored Glasses and seen Landstar for what they are..It was pretty uncomfortable to take my glasses off and see just how RUTHLESS these investors are.Keep in mind that these investors are from the Northeast. They are made up of the ''boys'' from wall street.I am sure they are tied in with the Jews,Italians and the crooks of the Northeast..

Once i took off my glasses i realized Landstar only truly does me a couple favors. The rest i Pay For.One favor is the fuel discount and the other is the LCAPP on tires.Thats it.

If i went on my own it would be a savings right out of the gate.

    Workers Comp= 3,640 a year savings..

Own Trailer is 7% of Gross.Last year that would of been 150,000 x 7% =10,500 more revenue

Fuel Tax Scam..This to will save you money...I bought all my fuel this quarter in NY and still payed Landstar 50.00...??????????????????????...Imagine that..:biggrin_25521:

    E-LOGS= 29.50 a month..This is 354.00 a year..More savings

Plates and Permits= 1800.00 through Landstar...You can get these for 1500.00..

    Bobtail Ins= 35.00 a week.Thats 1820.00 a year...On your own it is covered through cargo and liability...Another 1820.00 saved..

I have not even touched on ''freedom'' and no more HARASSMENT by the Jacksonville Nazi's...On your own,all you have to do is follow DOT LAW..Landstar Law is over the top and trumps DOT Law...

Wish me luck i am one more step closer to my own AUTH and away from the ruthless crooks Landstar Truly is...I have a deal on a trailer this sunday...Year 2000,air ride,53 ft for 4500.00....:biggrin_25525:

I hope Landstar Northeast Crooks see this....

I am using you as a stepping stone and i don't have anymore respect for your evil ways you do BCO's..This is the thanks we get for 20+ years of service and a 100% clean record landstar. You can have your 1 year wonders and feed them a bunch of ####.....I aint buying it...ROLMFAO:biggrin_2559:

    Ok rant over....:biggrin_2559:

Sorry Mike, gotta call you out here on your "savings". NY makes the workers comp laws for you. That 7% for the trailer you could have now if you bought your own, no difference. Fuel tax wise, it doesn't sound like you've really done your numbers to kno whether you really did owe. Elogs sucks, can't argue. This years plates were 1650 for me, which is average. You may save the first two years running estimated miles, but you can also pay a lot more too. Either way you can run your own plates at Landstar so how are they cheating you. All carrier require bobtail or Unladen for their leased trucks. Your argument is weak, but you'll find out. Make sure you register your business in NJ, $500 a year. They impound your truck if caught without it. Make sure you get those intrastate authorities as well.

My own stupid move.I should of bought one or kept mine sooner....Lesson learned...

It is the worst thing since DE-REG

Maybe i need to get my own plates again and start calculating my own IFTA and FUEL TAX...???

Correct...If on my own it is covered under the CARGO and LIABILITY....Some savage..

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....My inexperiance shows on this one....:biggrin_2559::biggrin_25524:
