You're right, I know that's the way they want all of us to go but.........when it doesn't work, as in this case, then what? As a driver you receive a citation that effects your livelihood? I've had some experience with these over the past two years. CADEC is what my company used to have. It often was inaccurate, made mistakes and sometimes did not work at all. So how can these be more accurate than paper? I'm serious about the Attorney thing........Where are they and why have they not represented hundreds if not thousands of drivers who have been put in this same exact situation as this driver?

Hundreds of thousands? Really? Where is the money to be made?

"hundreds if not thousands"..........I don't know you tell me. Are QUALCOMM, People net etc. small companies with no capitol? I think there's plenty of money to be made. The real answer is the poster, you and I are truck drivers and no one cares about our hardships put upon us due to government regulation and some "educated" guy trying to make a quick buck on things such as e-logs.

This has been the goal since 2005. It is not the wish or desire of any one other than those that have tried to change it through law suits and special interest groups like the ATA.

I have never used these things so correct me if I am wrong. Aren't you supposed to print off each day as you finish the day and only the current day be in the device. This is how I understood it.

I know this is too little too late but https://dhos.myqualcomm.com/dhm/ lets you go in and print out your elogs anytime. For Landstar company name is Landstar system holdings then you print out your logs.Don't know if Md would have let you print them off in their office but I keep a printer in the truck just in case.

That's the older generation of software that produces a log on a grid (ala paper logs) that is in response to input from the user only. Elogs (or ELDs as they are termed now) automatically record truck movement on the drive line, and place the user automatically in on-duty not driving status when not in motion... based entirely on GPS or inputs from the truck's ECM. Time logged not in motion can be edited by the user to off-duty status. The data can be downloaded to DOT on request via FAX.

You have to when you use a computer for logging. However, an EOBR, or whatever they call them this month, does not need it since it is done through the main computer.

Creates an interesting problem when the system is down. The paper log will never match a log from an EOBR by the minute to the 15 minute increment.
