My experience seems to be different than everyone else's. I've signed the lease and sent in the signature page, done the truck inspection and drug test. I have sent in the physical and copy of my driver's license. I forgot to send in the Gallagher so that will be waiting for them Monday. I got an email that they need to know the 2290 has been paid and that might be a bit of a problem. It appears I have been paying, but Roehl had the truck in their name and paid it in their name. I did not legally own the truck until a month ago. They also want a termination date with Roehl. So we have a couple of issues to work out in the switch. However, I have not gotten any message, "Congratulations and welcome to Landstar."

I'm not sure, but if Roehl wants to be a jerk about you leaving, you may have to pay bit yourself.

I could be wrong but I think you are now required to pay 2290 in your name as owner for the year.

We'll work it out. I have proof that Roehl paid it in their name, a bill of sale that is only a month ago and the title showing the transfer date also. The checklist said that if the purchase was less than 6 months ago then in lieu of a 2290 they needed a copy of the bill of sale.

I don't like to double post, but it has been too long and I can't edit my previous post. My experience seems to be a bit different than what I have read others went through. For about a week I have been going back and forth with Pamela at Interlink in Madisonville KY getting all the forms done correctly, truck inspection and drug test. Nothing bad, just crossing "T's" and dotting "i's." I wouldn't make it as an accountant, most of the issues were on my part. Roehl decided to be jerks, so instead of having me work to the end of my notice, they threw a temper tantrum and released me immediately. Pamela verified with Roehl this morning that I was finished, gave me a phone number to set up orientation in Rockford and they are shipping my permits to me by UPS. I'm stuck at a nearby truck stop until they come. The fly in the ointment is that the person I am supposed to call is out of the office until Monday. There is another number he left on his message, but I can only use it on Friday.

I would like to be in orientation Monday. I just need the permits to get here to the truck stop and then talk to someone who can schedule me. I doubt that dropping in unexpected would work very well. Does anyone know how long orientation is?

I was with Roehl for over 6 years, 4 as an owner/operator. I'm disappointed, but not surprised by their actions. At some point you need to grow up and run your business as a business. My wife's assessment is that they acted like prepubescent girls.

Its 2 days. My permits were overnighted to my house and then you can call and schedule orientation. My BCO coordinator called me the Monday after I got my packet(it was Saturday) and introduced herself and answered a few questions I had. When did they send out the packet?
