Aug 1st. - Got my drug test done. Soon as I check my email this morning after I applied through online and paid $15. I went straight through Labcorp near my house then got it done.
I called Recruiter and she said I do have to signed all the pdf files you get it on email and scanned it then email or fax back to her. I also need to do Landstar inspection but my truck I'm getting is getting dynoed/oil sample done on Monday so I hope I can drop it at shop that Landstar required which is 3 miles away.

Are you doing orientation in Indy? Russell's Trailer Repair does a great job on DOT Inspections and they're very close to the center.

Hmmm... a few of these opinions I agree with. Quite a few shady & idiot agents. Yes a few of these guys grab freight off of other load boards & post it on the BCO boards. It's two agents that does this with Hazmat loads but what if I told you a lot of BCO's don't touch that stuff? Most guys can sniff out the Broker BS.

Lulz..... where should I start. First of all, you says guys can't make it on their own so they join landstar, I know 3 fleet owners who had their authority for years & deactivated to join landstar because things was much easier & too an extent cheaper.

2nd. What is Landstar actually looking after us about? Other than Maintance & Inspections I'm pretty sure other Landstar drivers can agree to this but you barely hear from anybody in the office. So that makes us incompetent to let someone else handle permits & taxes?

3rd. Considering Landstar lease is a self dispatch unlike most leases, it's up to you to be profitable. So you have no choice to do it on your own. I guess I'm a wimp because I don't want to deal with paper work huh?

4th and last, I'm on Van side already over 100K gross & that's being home on weekends & running less than 2000 a week.

At the end of the day, sounds like you & LS wasn't a good mix & that's cool, things work like that. But slandering & throwing mud like a female at other drivers that works for Landstar is weak.

Also the Landstar Facebook groups are a fast way to get your questions answered. I have been with Landstar for about 1.5 years and I love it. Once you get to know the system it is really easy to move good paying freight at over $2.30 a mile all-in. The load I have now is 800 miles @ $4.44 all-in (to Denver) plus a good reload right back out for $2.27 all-in back down to the DFW area.

That cheap freight on the load board doesn't even exist to me. When I do my searches my minimum RPM is always $2.20. During orientation they will show you how to do quality searches. Plus now I just send an email to the agent(s) I know who have good paying freight out of the area I am heading into and I always get something good. I like to dispatch myself two weeks ahead of myself to make sure I am always running smoothly.

I run dry van but the next step is flat bed or step. Those guys have some serious cash flow. One step deck BCO I met in Sparks Nevada showed me his current settlements to motivate me to make the switch and he definitely got the wheels turning in my head.
