Any BCO's have any tips for a rookie at Landstar? Been driving since '87 so I meant just to Landstar, I don't mind being out a couple weeks at a time, anyone have an estimate to what I can bring in after fuel, ins, etc..? Only concern is that all the freight on the load board will be something nobody else wants or willing to haul for the rate. Should I be concerned or not? Thanks in advance for any help I can get!

when you look at loads on the load board, you cant look to long because you arent gonna be the only one looking. actually from my experience there is lots of god freight that hits the board but it wont stay on the board for very long at all. learn to use the board, lane match, and your load alerts and you will be fine. like this time of night most of te stuff n the board i left overs that no body wanted.

its now that we are into fall the loads around atlanta seam to be going pretty quick, and there less to choose from, so you really gotta study lanes, rates, and destination so you can become familiar so when one pops up you can be quick and hopefully get the load. and before you get a load start looking of freight at the destination to see what the reloads look like in that area

Get a calculator too. You'll be constantly trying to figure out how much the loads pays you.

You will do fine with Landstar. Great place to start out and I highly recommend them. Do you have a trailer or going to use theirs? What type of freight will you be doing? Van, Flatbed or something else? You do have to play by their rules or your gone so do it right.

You'll do fine out of GA, as long as you don't live south of US 84/US 82. Plenty of freight and plus there's good stuff that comes out of Atlanta & up I-75 to Chattanooga.
