let me get this right, so you did about $2.95 per mile to you (after Landstars takes their cut) this week? -
-
Ok let me make sure I'm explaining this correctly so ill break it down .I only done 2 loads this week ..usually I do a load per day but, I actually needed to get to NJ to load a car up that I purchased on EBay ..anywho ...
Load 1 was 6xx miles paid 2300 My cut of that was 18xx .
Load 2 was 14xx miles paid 49xx my cut of that was 4k
I just looked and had 250$ detention paid from earlier this year which explains the discrepancybaha Thanks this. -

The thing with Landstar is you need to know how to work the load board. You need to be able to plan yourself and know where the freight is. You can take a load from LA to Alaska for $14,000 but know there is nothing coming out of Alaska. You can take a great paying load to Florida but realize nothing is coming out of there. Getting to know agents and being a dependable driver works too. Landstar has a ton of good paying loads, but they get their cut and you are in charge of knowing where the freight is.

Joseph is correct. Not each LS driver makes the same. Some more, some less. Some know agents, some don't. You can make good $ running strictly from the board and if you know agents you can get it good with them and they can call you directly with freight that doesn't hit the board .. there is $ to be made at LS and trucking in general if you have the right attitude ..

My background is in accounting and when people post their numbers without context, they are meaningless. You took the time to post some of your numbers, which is greatly appreciated. Once you posted, others have been trying to get to the context of what you posted. You posted some detail, but I couldn't get any of it to add up to $6200 or $35xx. When this happens, your numbers become suspect, which is unfortunate because you are taking the time to share. I am not attacking you, just pointing out the inconsistencies in what you've posted.
Can you help me understand how your last post of "detail" matches with your earlier posts?knuckledragger and insertnamehere Thank this.
