Hello all i am new on here and would like to say hello. I have been in trucking 12 yrs fleet owner 4yrs running my own fleet. I have been thinking about putting 2 of my trucks out of 6 on with LS but non of my drivers have hazmat. My question is are there many people who are qualified already with Landstar waiting for a position to open on a fleet? Or do you think i should just keep doing my own thing which im not doing bad at all but not great either.

Is there any reason to believe you can do better with 2 trucks on at Landstar? I'd say move all 6 (and pay for your drivers Hazmat endorsements) and you can dispatch them off Landstar's board. Or leave all 6 right where they're at.
You can ask the drivers what THEY think. Or if you feel you can pay them better...coax them with a better check (which you SHOULD do any way if you're going to require them to carry Hazmat).
I hate change; so if you're doing good on your own, I would just keep doing what I'm doing. -
Thank you i was thinkin along the same lines your expressing to me thank you...

Keep in mind Landstar requires Hazmat endorsement.

Yea i understand they need hazmat i either have to get my drivers hazmat or hire an approved driver which that is what want to do

I'm qualified for landstar and I have my hazmat endorsement. Looking for a fleet to possibly drive for as well.
