Well it doesn't sound very good. I am not an owner op yet but I an trying to learn and pick up stuff and see if it's the right choice. My top choices are Landstar, farm2fleet, and fedex ground.

I currently make over 60k take home as a company driver. Home everyday.

So my guess is that it's better to go with your own authority?

This is were the math doesnt add up. 2.17 a mile x 98640 miles is 214048 and at 707 a day its 302 days. But you also say you took 8 weeks off plus 10 days after 3 weeks of work. So what am I missing?

That's not good but better than some mega flease places. You can definitely do far better at Landstar or Schneider or most anywhere that pays %

sorry i goofed up my gross was $187,000 last year and i was out 264 days... thats $707 a day and $1.89 a mile... had the wrong numbers pulled up...2013 was $2.17 a mile
..i'm fighting with the punpkin's insurance right now about my downtime because they took my hood off and think they only owe me $135 a day for my down time so i've got numbers pulled up for the last few years....
that is what i do MOST years not every year

That is what I have to file for my personal taxes. I made over 225K prior to all write offs. $54k is what I have to pay SS/Medicare taxes on because it is true income to me.

I hope this is not too personal of a question. If it is I apologize in advance. How much did you put down for your new to you truck, and what are the payments?

2010 Cascadia $6000 down / $1495 for 42 months. Truck is mine after a $1 buyout at the end of the lease. No balloon payment.
