I applied 1st week of January ... It took 8 weeks before I got my PDF's to sign and return .. mostly from what I gather was waiting on prior employers verifying my previous employment.. Then it took another 2 weeks for me to get the final approval .. I waited so long I was starting to wonder if they wanted me to come on or not, SO I applied for Mercer and was approved in a week... But they are just a qualification/verification department that's all they do, imagine the thousands of applications and references they have to run a day/week/month.. Like someone said hurry up & wait.

I left it with Landstar as thanks for running my verification app for me.. They will keep it for a year on file without having to do it all over again, other then a DAK/CSA 2010 and MVR report .. After having too much time to research , I chose to go on with Mercer Transportation instead, It was just the right choice for me... Yes it was worth the wait I was able to think things through , do my research and not just settle for 1 company that I applied to...

All my friends been saying stop waiting for ole landstar to finalize my truck because i have a lil over 20 days til i make my first truck payment n it shouldnt take this long to approve a truck when the driver is already approved.I guess im just stubborn and wanna see what all the fuss is with landstar. But hey if they take too much longer i guess i might have to go with my guts and just run my truck local around town.I cant believe i even went down and got hazmat on my license ...lord knows i never wanted to haul that crap again.

You don't have to haul hazmat at all, it's just a landstar requirement.. Just like Mercer requires TWIC but I know a few guys over here that never go into the ports/airports @ all.. Just helps maintain their customer base... I feel your pain on that truck payment clock ticking..

Speak to this guy he's the manager of the verification department for Landstar, he oversees the department, he might be able to help push things through

I did all the work for a friend of mine and it took 1 week and 1 day. I gave the lady everything that was on the list. Five minutes after I emailed everything I called her and asked if she got it. She said yes and would look it over. Later on that day I called and asked about it. She said your missing this and that. I said, that's not on the list. She said, ya, I know but we need that. I was like WTF? I sent her that then called her non stop and asking if she had everything she needed.

In the end it took one full day to give her everything she needed. Not sure if they still do it but at the time they used an outside company to do this.

They are a outside company and you need to push. They will set files missing items aside and not bother to call you, you need to call and ask what they need, the only real hold up should be past employers that don't use DAC.
