Well, even with your own authority, it is required to be in writing. The driver I was referring to thought that he only had to say it.

So, in a sense, even yourself must authorize any passenger in the cmv.

I never had any issues, had my 6 year old nephew with me when DOT'd, got pulled over with my ex girlfriend, brother ran with me numerous times and i was never asked for anything in writing, just a quick question who that was.

No doubt. I have noticed the DOT has gotten more money hungry in the last 2 years than the previous 7. I look for them to start picking at anything for a buck.

The law has been there sine July 1995. As more of them actually read the book, the more they will have to expand revenue.

Got to pay for their nice cars and toys.

550 all you gotta do is just make up a sheet with all the pertinate info stating that YOU are allowed to have who ever the hell you want in your truck with you.

As states such as CA see their budget shortfalls grow expect to see ramped up enforcement on truck.

I'm so glad I don't drive in that screwed up gawd forsaken state.

There are many other states that are now expanding their truck enforcement. I believe in another year, we will become some type of revenue to a majority of states. Be it concentration on trucks speeding, inspections, logs, or just plain random stopping.

I have seen many states doing more intense scale activity other than the annual. Some of them seem to be at least twice a month. If they can find revenue increasing by the staffing neeeded, we will have fun. I have even seen them working like that on weekends.

    Brickman Thanks this.
