First investigate the company you will be married to. Talk to some current drivers / owner operators. See if their numbers match what the carrier is telling you. Don't go with that carrier just because you can get into a truck with nothing up front(assuming that is true in this case.) If they really don't care if you turn the equipment back to them before the end of the lease term how much do you think they care if you are successful? Is this walk-away in writing?

Don't take this personally, I would ask this of anybody in your situation. If you can't save up $4,500 dollars in a reasonable amount of time(say a year), why do you think you'll be successful as an owner operator?

I have some savings, however like i said not near the 4500, I am not taking it the wrong way I just recently used a sum of it too purchase the wife a newer vehicle otherwise wouldnt be a problem. And yes I see the point of if they dont care that i walk away why do they care if i suceed, I guess the other thing is that like you suggest talk to the other drivers. Does anyone reccomend using the arrow company to finance a truck? I am going to use it as in then i would not be married to a company if they were not giving me the miles they claimed or that i needed to make thkngs run right..

My suggestion is to save some more money for a down payment and some start up money. Then you can choose a carrier based on whether they are a good fit for the type of work you like, area you want to run and revenue opportunities.

As far as Arrow Truck Sales goes, there is a long post in the Owner Operator section on them. You should be able to find it without too much trouble. Read through that and ask any questions you have about Arrow there.

    Good luck with your dream.

You do realize that Arrow does not guarantee financing don't you? They are owned by Volvo and you'll need decent credit to get financed through them. They told me 650 or higher credit score when I talked to them and then it's still not a guarantee you'll get financed but it's likely.

Yep I've talked to them too. Just exploring all options at this point. But thank you for the recommendation.

I am wondering about Lone Mountain. Anyone leased from them? They seem pretty reasonable. Is everything as they advertise? Anyone have bad dealings with them? I have looked at their webpage, and have heard some good things about them. Any first-hand dealings with them? Just interested is all...

Several people on this forum have bought trucks from them. Mostly all good reviews. I'm sure one or two of them will chime in for ya.
