There are actually a few 'Gems' amist the mega-carriers believe it ir not, but even so, those carriers already run on lower rates, so the profit margin is thin nonetheless, so one must run a 'tight ship', just like their carrier, to make a good margin. Thise 'Gems' are companies that actually legitamately want their o/o's to be sucessful because it benifits them by retaining drivers worthy of more pay that they simply cannot afford, as well as keep older trucks and 'Ungoverned' trucks to take up slack when they fall short. I am leased onto one of them, and its great. The legit 'Gems' will usually have very lienient leases, allowing you the freedom to do what you want to your truck, as well as not charge you interest or other things to try and 'squeese that extra dime out of you' during your lease. Still, the irony is that even with a pretty good deal, there are many who fail, because they do not consider that 'Tight Ship' type of operation, nor try and solve their issues like mentioned before. That is exactly why I mentioned the book earlier in the thread. It is a guide that will point out what it takes to run that 'Tight Ship', as well as how to avoid those l/p's that are designed for failure, bacause unfortunately, yes, there are more and more mega-carriers offering less and less these days.

    ...It can still be done...
... There is GOOD money to be made with those few l/p's out there that are legit...

Read a book to succeed in a flease purchase?
I cant be bothered to cli k the link, but thinking some Rutherford type BS, trying to persuade the gullible to send him their money...
Good MPG = More money in yer pocket? Say it aint so...anyone with a year of paying attention while holding that steering wheel can tell you that Mr Truckdriver.

$1.50 a mile and paid that off early? Guessing no wife at home (and I mean at home, not slaving away), no kids, no dental, medical, etc for them all, no house (trailers dont count IMHO), and so on maybe?
Either way, flease purchases from a trucking company are a scam, as already said.
If you cant manage money, thus screwed your credit up, then dont try to run a business. Already said it, but there is next to no other business like trucking where you can become a business owner with such little experience etc. It's sad...

I am going to put my comment in an articulate and intelligant fashion so all of you can understand.

If you do a lease purchase program, especially with Prime and companies like that, you need to go and have an MRI done on your brain. It is financially stupid. The math does not work. The best part is this. THE TRUCK IS NOT YOURS!! YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER IT!! YOU HAVE NO SAY ON THE LOADS YOU GET!! That is the hard core truth.

Get your own truck that you can lease out to who you want. If they piss you off or play games with you...you can leave...AND WITH YOUR TRUCK!!

Lets review~~ ITS NOT YOUR TRUCK!! YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER IT!! ITS AN ILLUSION THAT YOU ARE ACTUALLY AN OWNER OPERATOR. I HAVE NEWS FOR YOU...YOU ARE NOT AN OWNER OPERATOR!!! :biggrin_2551::biggrin_2551::biggrin_2551::biggrin_2551::biggrin_2551::biggrin_2551::biggrin_2551:

The best part is you are the sucker kicking back extra money to them, paying for repairs and fuel!

    nuff said.

I agree. That Rutherford character is nothing more than a snake oil salesman.

I've been at it over 20yrs now, in my own trucks, maybe I too could write a book and make tons of money from flease operators?
Hell, if I gave a percentage to Prime, CRE, etc, I bet I would be retiring in a couple of years, after they "insist" on their fleasers buying it....much like the ATBS scam.
    What ye think Sam??:biggrin_255:

Company drones have a difficult time with independent thought. Not part of the company handbook.

I have to agree to a point with Samtheman but not all. Yes for the most part many will fail, Most part not all. Some will make it. As others mentioned Ones who makes it has business sense to them so they will make it. May take a lot of hard work and many trying times but it can be done, many have made it. But it will not be an easy task. But if someone does it works hard and has half a business mind to them they can make it. Would I recommend a new driver to do it? Not in this life time but after getting several years experience yes if they have the brains to do it.
