Ok drivers, need your input. I'm ready ( with cash ) to end my LP deal and obviously the carrier is giving me some sheet.

The tractor is titled to the carrier at his home office in Illinois. I want to pay it off and have him hand me the signed ( open ) title. He won't, he refuses and says I need to give him check, let clear ( ok fine ) and title will be sent to local office from corporate . ( still ok so far ) Then he insists I register truck in my name in my state of Texas. If I don't he will hold my escrow til I do. ( I will have to have title for the transfer so he will hold escrow )

This BS will cost me a grand or so and about a month for the paperwork turn which will hinder my ability to sell, trade and maybe even lease the truck elsewhere. There is nothing about this in my agreement with the carrier. Not a word.

He's doing it so I can't payoff and leave....

    Your thoughts?

First, you do not need a check. If he is adamant, go and get a cashiers check which is a financial receipt and funds at time of transaction.

Bill of sale is all you need to get this joker. He is required by law to provide the valid bill of sale and title.

The problem is that this guy does not have title and is trying to buy himself time.

Do not waste time with OOIDA. Get a local attorney for this. You need proper representation.

Call OOIDA and seek legal council the only way this chump is going to respond to you if you or your legal rep send him a certified letter after the truck is paid for and your check clears the bank that he would have to pay you for your escrow money due you an $$$$ X amount of dollars. The registration of your truck is your concern not his you register your truck where ever you please as he is no longer the owner of that truck but you must pay it off first

You screwed up their operation by paying off a LP deal. Tell him to get the title and you will bring cash.
The truck probably has a lein against it along with all the other trucks they bought at the same time and now they have to get a clear title so they can give it to you.
Push them hard, you did your part of the deal, now it's time for them to do theirs. OOIDA can be a low cost way to push their buttons.

I'm going to do a cashiers check and plan a measured response. Mouth piece wants $250 for a sabre rattling phone call. He thinks that will get it done.

Going to use cell video during transaction for mouth piece to view n see if they start any sheet.

I'll let you know......prolly be a week or so more.......

    I love controversy !!!!
