Ok I have some general questions concerning a lease purchase program from Wiltrans. They currently are leasing brand new Peterbilt 587 and 579 trucks. From the information I received from them thus far the payment is huge. Like $979.00 huge. It includes the truck payment apu payment and physical damage insurance. The truck has a 4yr/600,000 mile warranty that covers anything that doesn't wear. You are compensated at 70% of load revenue plus fsc. According to recruiter which are paid to tell lies the average is 4,300 to 4,500 gross with drivers bringing around 1,300 to 1,500 to the house (his words not mine). Now let me just say i'm curious to hear good and bad and what all of you think. I know all of the dangers and pitfalls of fleece purchase. I currently work on a dedicated account home every night job. So i'm just putting this out there and seeing what kind of info I get back.

Why not just cut out the middle man and work for prime?

hello, I'd like to help all drivers to realize how bad these business decisions are. you should look up leases all over this forum.
IMHO I'd recommend you keep your dedicated route. you maybe bored of the same ol' or just wanting to achieve a better financial situation and work freedom but believe me, you will not be free to make your own decisions under a lease and companies leasing always win.
I encourage any and all drivers that are seriously wanting to go into the leasing route to just jump in and become an O/O and get their own truck from a dealership/lot. it's the same risk but this way is a lot more rewarding and with more liberties.
    Good luck with your decisions.

Thanks for the information. Just a quick note. I posted a question of the facebook page of wil trans and they gave me a number to call tomorrow to talk to some current drivers on the lease program and the ability to come in as a company driver and be provided with revenue info as if I was already leasing the truck to get a better idea of profitability.

Actually they do. And wiltrans pulls prime loads. I think they also give a little bigger percent.

I stand corrected. However Prime requires you to have a twic card and go to Canada. Wiltrans doesn't.

If this is your first truck . Why would you want to buy a new truck to start out ? Warranty ??
If you buy a used truck even a 06-09 or even some 05's you can buy a warranty for less than 4k and you can also get used APU's for around the same price .

Note also - most warranties do not cover towing and normally come with deductibles or limited labor so it's not a safety net to buy new I guess is my point
