My AC is out. Weekend means no parts available to fix it. Breakdown paid for a motel so I didn't have to put up with New Orleans heat. Hopefully fixed tomorrow after my unload.

I to am going to lease again after I get some time behind me again. Just because of my age 57. I figure 10 more years of working and I want to make as much as possible during that time. Interested in know what company it is a that your leasing from. If you want please message me. I will follow your post to see how it goes for you. Good Luck.

I see you went to Coors. When I drove before for a year I went there many times what a dump picking up that preloaded trailer. Has it improved any?

It was fine getting the preloaded trailer at coors. I'm rather glad it was the way it was. Go to anhieser Busch and they are way more struck on how clean the empty trailer is and then you need bobtail weight and a lot of steps. Coors was easy. Find the trailer, secure the load, slide the tandems and off you go. The only this bud has over coors is a good scale system when you leave.

It makes me nervous when I see leases that have not residual. That is what a lease is and when they are called one thing but set-up as something else I have to wonder what the company is thinking or even if they know what they are doing.

Or they know what they are doing and have no intention of letting you complete the "purchase".

Having a fixed residual is what you want and you need to know what it is. It should be something that unless you completely destroy the truck that you should be able to sell and still make money.

But these "fair market value" leases are basically rentals. Avoid these unless your intent is to complete the lease and get a new truck. These can work well if you are a trainer and that is what you want to do long term.

if it makes you nervous, don't do it.
I did my homework on this one.
The company is not a villain out to destro the dreams of all drivers.
The beauty of this program, to me, read that again...(appeals to ME) is that I don't Have to be a trainer to stay above water. I can go home like normal. Only thing is, after the term, I get a title.
I have met and became friends with multiple people that have done the program and got the title. They stayed on with the company and financed another truck from a bank that he leased on and teams with.
Not every company is. " out to get us".
They are small enough to know me by name , and large enough to get the freight contracts .

You preach that this is a mistake, that's fine . I make money.
While you say this is something to avoid, I still make money.
If I sit for two days and only get 1200 miles, i still make money, and get home to boot.
If there is any button that someone can push to set off another driver, be it backing or buying a truck "You're doing it wrong" pisses everyone off.

If it makes you feel better I can refer to what I am doing as a rent to own deal, leased on to a company.

Well being a company driver its NO WAY TO "SAVE FOR YOUR OWN TRUCK" whoever came up with that bright idea has no idea of the salary that a company driver makes! I was in lease purchase with jb once before and yes it wasnt successful my first swing at it but after 4 months of being a company driver again im miserable and I was making alot more money on lease purchase jb has a buy out early option, walk away lease , and several drivers paying trucks off as little as 8 months ! I gotta go get my dream and not let it slip away ill keep yall updated

I have 3 hrs left on my 70. They still found me a load I can grab to get home on my recap. That's utilizing every hour efficiently! Should be home Thursday! Have a good holiday if you do that! Speak next week.
