Agreed, which is why I only allowed it to happen on a long straightaway, no way I would try to take so much as a slight curve above 65.

The point remains... if safety was going to harp about going above the limits, that would definitely be the situation where it'd have happened.

I am making money dm works with me to keep me rolling as long as i am on time. Ben is a great dm out of centrals rochelle terminal. My truck is not governed. I top out at 80mph which is as high as my spedometer goes. I normally dont drive over 65 for fuel mileage purposes. They latly give me very little time to make a delivery. Issue with safety pissed me off they want me to get my governer set for insurance purposes and i said ########. Because i am paying for insurance for the truck myself. On an average week i make 1500 after i take taxes and state taxes out. Thats because i buy the fuel i need for the trip as cheaply as possible. Bookeeping is easy. Most of what i make though i shove into savings anyways. I do my own cooking in the truck and i live in the truck. Home is where i park it. I really am starting to hate swift. My issue is swift is i have to watch all these stupid videos obey there speed policy and im supposed to be an. Independant contractor. I pulled a load for knight the other day you shoulda seen the tables that they flipped. When my contract says that i can choose to haul freight with another carrier but swift/central is not liable in any way with damages.

My other grip is i have enough money in reserve that i could put down for a brand new truck through a bank and still have maintenance costs and fuel covered. I am considering going this route and wanted to know if i would liable for anything if i gave them their truck back. No scatches dents or damages its in the same shape it was when i drove it out of utah.

I don't understand. If your truck isn't governed why did safety say you were over-speeding?

Didn't you get a contract when you signed the lease stating what happens if you terminate early? You best ask your company this question.

Don't worry about it then ... just keep driving the way you want to ... soon enough they will ask you to turn the truck in.

Keep this in mind though ... you are in business, you are selling your service ... Swift/Central is your customer ... you're pulling their freight, in their trailer ... as the customer they can require certain levels of performance - such as show up on time, deliver the freight safely and don't pull their trailers beyond a certain speed. Don't like the demands the customer puts on you? Then by all means find another customer.

I cant figure that out either. Its supposed to be set i guess. It. Wasnt set when it left utah and central didnt say jack about it either. Now that swift has taken over its a problem. To me if the speed limit is 75 why cant i go 75 if i choose to?

The contract says nothing about terminating it early if you bring the truck back. I do know that I could go back to utah and get someone else to take over the lease. I would feel bad though because someone just out school would probably take over the lease saw alot of that when i had to go sign a new contract under swifts name back in febuary.

If you're making money why not just complete the lease and then go buy your own truck? How many months was your lease for?
