How many company trucks do they have and how many lease trucks do they have? Are all the trucks gliders?

You may want to talk to an accountant about setting up an LLC or S corporation, there may be significant tax savings for you.

They have 5 total and currently 2 are being bought, via l/p. I will be buying the 3rd, come the 3rd of june. They are all Gliders but one, which is the owners original truck. Two of the Gliders are double bunk and two are midroof. Both midroofs will no longer be available,,lol

Man, less than a week to go before I can call myself an I/C.. To say I am not nervous, would be a bull faced lie. I am 46 and have never been in charge of a business and to say that my money spending skill's are bad, is putting it very mildly. 46 and nothing to show for it so, I am starting this from the bottom, so to speak. Yeah, I know, not the way to do it but, it is done none the less. This is all I have thought about, for the most part anyway, for 5+ years and I have researched my butt off. I have said it somewhere on here before, if I had to pay for the schooling I got from all the research I did, I would be in more debt than a medical student.

I have very little personal expenses, I mean very little. I plan on basically living in the truck until I get a reserve built up so I can relax a little. That is my first goal, to build up a maintenance reserve, enough to for anything.

The only thing that really concerns me, is the things I have no control over.......

Good luck to you!! I will be an interested follower. Our stories aren't all that different. I went the L/P route a little over 2 years ago and while I made mistakes along the way I have title in hand now and continuing to work under my carrier's authority until I feel comfortable to go out on my own authority. Run hard and learn from your mistakes and the rest will take care of itself.
