I came across this ad today for a lease/purchase on Craigs List. From all that I've read about lease/purchase deals you should avoid them like you would avoid a tweaker car salesman during a full moon. That said, I would like to know if anyone can spot a potential land mine here in this ad. What kind of questions would you ask these guys? Could this actually be a good LP deal ?? (or is that an oxymoron? :biggrin_25525: ) No.....I am not connected with these guys at all....

they are running the same ad in the Dallas area as well. first thing that jumps off the page to me is Western Express... don't really know enough about them... except when i'm up towards the north east i see a ton of their trucks, which i find a little ironic due to their name...WESTERN Express...

If you do a lease/purchase on Craigslist, I've got 10 truckloads of Winter Air I'll make you a great deal on.

I found two jobs off of Craigs List---one of them is my current job. However, if you think I'm the type to jump into a LP without a lawyer and few months of research then I have some waterfront property to sell you in Fukashima. ;-)

$1350 take home seems low...I have had $1300 weekly checks as a company driver

Well, it LOOKS good, but I'd have to concur with the untrustworthy provider.

I got in a tangle on here last week with an individual claiming to be an ex-WE recruiter, who admitted they regularly passed on erroneous information to potential candidates.

I didn't know WE was getting involved in LP, but it doesn't surprise me.

I'd suggest a face to face with a WE LP driver and some financial paperwork to back their claims before believing a word.

The highglighted "WALK AWAY" part sounded a bit scary . . . like a prelude to disaster.

    quatto and Skunk_Truck_2590 Thank this.

This sounds like great practical advice to me. I trust drivers way more than company reps.

The "walk away" part sounded comforting to me---if it's an actual "weasel clause" without conditions (and I doubt it is). I suppose the devil is in the details, as always. Thanks for your help.
