I'm going to recommend something to those considering lease purchase. Stay away from dry van and reefer freight. The reason being that pay the least typically of anything on the road. Realizing most of those carriers average pay is only about 95 cents per mile to the contractor Plus fuel. If you're set on doing it to find out in writing exactly what the mileage rate detention policies and fuel surcharges.

Any company that refuses to give you that information in writing up front run away do not talk to them. make sure that there is a residual amount listed on the lease before you sign for the truck. and whatever you do do not sign a lease that is based upon your mileage only agree to lease terms as a set rate. what I mean by that is your note needs to be the same every week. if you want 2000 miles or 4000 miles it needs to be the same amount. Any reputable carrier will give you all of this information in writing up front before you even apply. If they will not divorce this information right away to not talk to them any further they will rip you off. if they try to tell you that no carrier will give you the information up front they are lying to you.

More misinfo on a lease i make 1.03 mi plus ,44 fsc. 50.00 drop 35/hr after 2 sitting. And guess what i dont sit. Unless im doing my breaks. If there isnt a load they deadhead us to get a load. I pull dry van. Plus i get a choice of loads. .And i can refuse loads. Your experience nightgunner and mine are completly different. We have a load that delivers to Co. that deadheads us 525 mi to get reloaded in Ks for example. Because we dont have any freight in Co. Happens alot. I avg. 1200 1500 week take home

I forgot itz all in writing to. I personnally have never done a lease before. This is my 1st. I have been at it for 3 yrs only came up short 3 time all in my 1st yr of leasing and i was short of a payment less than 150 bucks at the most. Yea i got a buyout but thats not a problem either . Im actually puttg money in savings. I took me 2 yrs to save up for the buyout. Matter of fact we have 25 former lease drivers who completed there lease still working for us. And many more that arent. Point is they got there titles.

JCT has a wall dedicated to pictures of drivers being handed their title upon completing their lease & paying the $1 buyout.
