Although partially true, it isn't the case for the most part.
When those of us that went into a dealer and bought our trucks ourselves, and have earned decent money with them, these lease deals are certainly nothing to brag about.
If you can't bring home way more than a company driver, what is the point?
I can 110% guarantee that if these lease deals didn't benefit the company, non of them would offer such a thing. Why is that????
Think before taking the plunge, and consider other options. I think that is what most of us more experienced guys are trying to get across here. No one likes to see a driver get badly burnt by a bad lease deal.

I just didn't want to sound preachy. I've learned that, for the most part, lots of these people already have their minds made up on whether or not they are going to lease.
Many are just looking for that one success story so they can excuse what they are going to do with a positive spin.
Any company with a lease is going to benifits that company. That said, not all companies are "out to burn you ".
Do your homework and make an informed decision .

No rhyme or reason, just a silly statement. If you want to actually help folks out, make an actual sentence and then list why they should stay away. You will be of more assistance that way instead of just making a remark like that, IMHO anyways.

you are right, I should have offered a more intelligent response. I could mention their CSA scores. or for example in Craigslist they offer 1350 dollars take home pay a week. When you call them and ask them to put that in writing, they make excuses on why they can't. Of course they're always companies where you need to get your start. However like many drivers I want to save some of these new guys a disaster that is waiting to happen. Although I don't recommend these companies. I would suggest Swift, Werner, and any other companies they can give a driver hIs start

It's all about the business plan. If someone considering leasing doesn't have one or know what one is, that person probably isn't a good candidate for a lease any more than the driver who goes into one chasing dollars that marketing departments throw around. -

i'd like to get back into driving truck and thought about my own truck. it would have to be a lease i'm not rich and bad credit. i figure with my own truck i can take home time when i want it. but i have not the faintest idea on how to do this. how do you get loads and get the necessary permits, insurance, etc. without knowing how to be my own boss, secretary and dispatcher i would fail. but the thought of owning my own truck sounds nice.
