Bill, are you going to also require that they have some sort of minimum level of capitalization? In addition to not having credit. I see a lot of drivers taking advances to cover their on road expenses, which starts them on the path to negative cash flow and that ever bigger hole.

When you are making $.90/mile plus fuel and you have a fixed expense of $700+ per week the problem isn't advances. That boat was sinking as soon as the lease was signed. But we don't provide advances and that has been addressed.

Dart is running ads locally for $1.00 / mile.

$.68 plus FSC will barely make your bills.....you'd literally be driving for free

That's good money. Provided of course the truck payment and fixed costs were $200 a week or less combined.

Are you sure $.68 isn't a typo? That won't even cover your fuel and insurance. You would literally have to pay the company to run at that rate.

Just looked up USA's website and they are advertising up to $.98 a mile plus fsc. When you look at all the mileage based companies they are within about a nickel of each other. USA does advertise a program to allow you to run your own authority, but that is just based on what I read on their website.

CPM + FSC means nothing when there's no guarantee of how many miles you're going to get each week.
