To add to post i avg 2300 mi a week . Most drivers want miles ,not me i wanna know how much am i making on a load. I have driven 3000 mi a week made 800 bucks . I have driven 1800 made 1700.00 . i all varies chasing miles only puts costs on the truck more maintenance. My Gfriend rides with me alltime we gi nascar 3 yr party different places thoughout summer. We plan and save for it . We gave up our rental and enjoy out on the road . When we go home we stay at friends or family. When my lease is done we go home and buy a house. 600.00 more a week without trk payments opens alot of doors. PROBABLY be more than that my. brother gets home every night works 1 weekend a month for a day only. avg 2400 2800 week take home . Huge pay increase compared to Company pay. Yea leasing you get shafted but to me it was worth it . The reward is whatever you want it to be.

First off going into a lease purchase to buy a truck is not the correct mind set...consider it a rental and you'll do quite well if you watch your cost. For example, add up all fixed cost, ie. Truck payment, trailer rent, insurance plates permits and so on. Then low ball York fuel mileage and miles you expect to run. Example 5.5mpg and 2500 miles a week. Then add 50 cents to the national fuel average. Then figure you estimated weekly fuel cost. Once you have all that added up. Take the rate times 2500
and that will be your gross. (Low ball fsc too) . Subtract your cost and that's your net. Divide you net by your miles and that will be your cpm. Most lease purchase programs I have found pay 10 to 15 cpm more than that same companies co drivers. And second everyone is always bashing the full purchase price of these programs fact is you buy a home @100k you pay back 250 to 300k over the term of your mortgage. But if you treat it as a rental and upgrade as soon as the maintenance cost start rising you'll do well. Plus you can write off your entire lease payment on your taxes if you buy outright can only claim depreciation. Hope this helps

Faf goes through a leasing company they don't have any line haul trucks just day cabs . I would never lease a truck I owned mine and it is hard to stay on top here you can break even and make some money as a solo but it's is just a job I have made better money as a company driver and I am think of going back to that . I would only lease if I had no other options and there a is alot of company jobs out there right now so that's were I am at after five years of this .

I hear all the pros and cons to leasing and flat out buying your own. I honestly think it's all on the driver, what type of bills you have already and if you like to work. I've been shaking freight for close to 10yrs now. Thinking about how much money I've helped these companies make except making myself rich lol. I was born and raised in the industry. I want to step out and try something new. I know there will be good and bad days but getting through is all that matters. My driver record is excellent and I have my endorcements as well. I live in Frisco Tx. Who has the best lease purchase programs??? Help me out here

Getting paid by the miles is irrelevant to me now. I run 3200 miles and take home maybe 1,100.00. I want to get paid by load and run less miles with more pay.
