I enjoy it too as I must shine the light on these predatory lease scams. Unfortunately some people cannot handle the truth lol. :biggrin_25522:

Lease purchases are right up there with predatory lending. In this case its predatory leasing.

We will grant you absolution my friend. The best way to atone for your past deeds is to shine the truth on these scams. It sounds like you know the right way to get in a truck. Let that be your mission. Now go in peace

You can't cheat a honest man.
Read the lease agreement before you sign it.
No one is forcing these drivers to sign on.
The big problem is ALOT of drivers who make the switch don't have the discipline to make a go of it.
God forbid you have to work hard at it to make it.
Seems like WORK is a dirty word nowadays..guess because it's a 4 letter word.
That and they don't have any money saved up..disaster waiting to happen

The other thing is to research the company you're thinking of leasing on to.
    Again..think!

Sure a lot of companies prey on newbies..but with all resources available on the internet you can find out who are the successful companies.

What hard work? ... I only work around 9 months a year, plus or minus week or two and by DOT only allowed to work an average of 8 3/4 hours per day.

Here is why companies push lp. Its not bc of freight rates. They have to pay employee taxes. As an lp/oo, u are not an employee. So they save money. They save by not being liable if you wreck. They save on employee benefits and insurance, taxes, and liability. All they do is handle the paperwork, provide a trl and broker the loads. And sit back and collect the money. Not really about freight rates.

ive said it before and ill say it again companies do not use loadboards most of the bigger companies go directly to the shippers because they have there own broker divisions and are bonded. even the smaller companies that aren't bonded deal only with the brokers why do they do this because brokers deal with the companies directly the loads they cant cover go to the load boards so basically the loadboards have already been picked through and that's whats left usually for good reason.
