"We bailed before we lost the house, but not before a 300k inframe sucked 40k out of our bank account"
Thank you for your honesty. If I may quote you in future when people ask the "Positive feedbck only!" question on these L/P - I'd appreciate it.
I hate having anybody that I "Look to" or "Take advice from" . . . but I have to say - Ol' Kevin Rutherford is not too far off the ball, at least when it concerns running a trucking business. If anything - read his literature and then think about it.
And thanks DY - I'm still self analyzing my own CONFIRMATION BIAS. Saved tons in therapy fees already.

I will tell you the best way. Run for a company that pays well. Put aside some money from every check and set a goal. Go and get Kevin Rutherfords "Stop Holding the steering wheel and Start Driving your business." It will give you a blue print on what you need to do to start up and run your trucking business.Rigbuilder Thanks this. -

Why do drivers that are so against a LP feel the need to waste so much energy talking bad about them. Guess what? Just like some drivers fail from buying there "own truck" through a bank FAIL. Some lease operators fail, but some DONT! Just like some don't from "buying there own truck" but some aren't able to walk into a dealership and just buy a truck.
This is how I see it, and remember guys this is how I see it, so don't get all bent outta shape. Anyone who talks so bad about a lease failed as a lease operator or they don't think they could do it. The fact of the matter is, that yes, some drivers can be sucessful with a LP. Sorry that bothers so many of you, but it's the truth. Just like some guys fail as a O/O. I know 2 people personally that have completed lease deals and own the truck. so to the OP, since so many people can't keep there uneducated, worthless, advice about leasing it can be done it takes hard work, determination, homework, and some good ol common sense. I wish you the best of luck
one more thing, can someone tell me what happens if you can't make the payments for your "own truck" that you financed through a bank? Or dealership? I'm gonna take a wild guess here and say they take it away, so.. It's not really owning your own truck until you have the title in hand. Kind of like a lease am I right? -
