I want to hear any info anyone wants to share about a positive lease/purchase experience.

I know tons fail but a lot of guys make it too. My hubby will be purchasing(or leasing) a truck at some point this next year and I would love to hear some of the things that those of you that have done well have to say. Maybe what you might have done differently to make the process easier. My job now involves lining up loads. My degree is in logistics and I'm very good at what I do. I can look at a load and assess when that load will be delivered .... I've never been off by more than 30 minutes except for the occasional mishap such as a breakdown. I haven't had much experience with the costs except for negotiating shipping costs.

Just want to be well informed by people who have some experience. Thanks :)

I know a few people who have done l/p that has turned out well. The one rule they all stated is " you never lease from the man who controls your paycheck"!!! If you are going to lease go with a third party lease that is not tied to one company. That way if he is not happy with that company he can take the truck to another company and not lose everything he put into it to start all over at another company.

She's looking for knowledge from the successful, not criticism from the negative. It's stupid to ask for a job from a homeless guy.

You're not going to get much positive feedback by asking for positive feedback. There's a lot of hate directed toward leases; you might do a search for the member Ironpony. He's done it all for Prime Inc and is now an owner working for them. He is articulate, knowledgable, and gives no BS. You don't even have to ask; just find his posts and read.

Good luck to you and hubby.

Because picking lint and bugs from his belly button doesn't pay much, unless you accept farts in a jar. :smt101

After 457,000 "Do Not Do It" recommendations you now will get only positive answers from everyone. Go get one and go broke. It's easy. 457,000 broke truck drivers can't be wrong can they? I am the only one against it so if you are successful then you can point a finger at me and say SEE!!

BTW/I retired with around 1.5 million in assets and accounts with a positive retirement income of 58K/yr and all medical paid.

I prefer to read the dictionary. It doesn't whine and hissy when I disagree with it.

I've been searching for the definitive answer to this question - I think I just found it.

    Confirmation bias.
