thats what i like about celadon, if the truck down you dont have to make any paymen but i think there is something else to it idk tho.

Doing a lease payed by the mile is hard, I get percentage of load. I can also refuse load if it won't help cover dead head. At the company I'm at after 18 months you can lease the truck with any company you want as long as you make the payments. I average $2.00 a mile or better fuel surcharge covers a good part of fuel cost.

If I'm thinking correctly, celadon uses quality company's lease deal. That would make a little more sense than a direct company lease...
Quality deals with 30+ companies, and I am a driver for one of them, Fort Transfer. I'm planning on doing the lease purchase in Feb. Fort will be treating me like an owner op, both in title and same percentage pay and residuals... The major benefits of doing it this way is fort has no stake in the truck, so it behooves them to keep me earning, because then THEY will be earning. However, if the poo hits the fan I can take my truck to one of the other 30+ companies that quality works with... Don't see that happening tho, as I've talked to both o/o and l/p drivers here and all are very happy, and 2 guys showed me some settlements, after fuel and truck expenses were avg 1800-2200 a week...
There is a dedicated thread here for quality lease (not to be confused with quality carriers lease)
BTW long time forum haunter... First post!Arky Thanks this.
