hey everyone, i am wondering if anyone has any info and thoughts about RoadRunner and their new lease program for 2015. They say they've changed the contracts and drivers are no longer able to find and book their own freight any more. I filled out an app for them, got approved but it seems the recruiter is trying to push me towards running for Bruenger.. I am more interested in running the LTL for Road Runner since i live in Las Vegas and they have terminals down in southern Cali.. I've been doing this long enough to know once they get you out in the midwest or other places, you can either take whats available or sit and starve.. Is there anyone else running for RoadRunner or even Bruenger that can share information, style of running and of money they're making.. I've been combing through these pages and figured I'd ask here..
Thanks in advance

By the way, every single company driver out there is essentially doing the same #### thing, making payments by driving the truck! Before you ask, no I'm not a lease driver but I don't condone those that want to try.Made_In_Haiti, spectacle13, stevez57305 and 6 others Thank this. -

Seems to be a lot of people who have lot's of learnin' coming their way. Company driver paying for the truck ... making payments by driving the company truck? What kind of idiot talk is that? By that logic, one would have to ignore the fact that being on a lease program is paying for the boss' wife's Mercedes as well as the condo for his girlfriend.
But by all means, lease your heart out if you think that's where the "big money" is Looking forward to seeing you guys back here when your perspective has changed.
Lease programs are written to keep you, the lessee hungry, and desperate for whatever work that can come your way. Virtually all of the financial risk on the lease contractor and all of the potential financial reward is assigned to the lessor. (i.e the profit side of the equation is almost 100% on the lessor side, and the lessee side is the "labor component". Not a lot of potential "profit" available in a lease program unless you call labor "profit" and that's just stupid)reefer75 Thanks this. -
The bottom line is no one has the right to belittle those that want to give it a try.Last edited: Feb 8, 2015

Look at the big picture.
Figure 100,000 miles a year at $1.3, $55,000 in fuel, $55,000 in lease/insurance payements and $20,000 to split between maintenance and pay your cost of living back home. As you get closer to 130,000 miles a year it begins to look a little better but understand you're on the road all friggen year and your maintenance and fuel go up quite a bit.
We're only trying to help.... -
100k miles equals $55k? What kind of fuel mileage do you get?
Personally it would take a lot more than $1.30 a mile to get me to lease.Drew352 Thanks this.
