Thanks for mentioning about the somoke smell. I'm going to add that to my list. I've gotten spoiled as a company driver when they just ask smoking or non smoking lol hadn't even crossed my mind to ask. It's the simple things ;)

I will have to start the process all over again. Was talking to someone today and he told that you should not fill out app til 45 days before orientation. You would have to talk to your rep about that to find out the best time to fill it out. I have not reapplied as of this moment but April is the time I am planning on orientation.

You sign your paperwork and contract on Day 1 of Orientation before you have even seen your truck. SFI is real top secret on letting you see a copy of the lease until you're looking at it. SFI tends to do all of the detail, and "the way you want the truck" stuff done for drivers who have finished other leases with them in the past, not first time signers. I'd suggest buying your own truck before leasing a truck from the company you're signing on with.

they don't let you see the load board until you're there either but they will send screenshots if you ask.
There really was no surprises in the lease or nothing that worried me.
Things are different here from other leasing truck companies as here you pick your own freight off a board with thousands of loads and don't rely on a dispatcher when if you're already only making $1.17 at Celadon or $1.35 at Swift for example.

I have a question when I had my own truck leased onto them in 2010. I was on the choice program and loved it. The question is at that time if you leased a truck from Schneider you could not be on the choice plan but had to run on mileage program. Has this changed?
